2nd Annual Battery Oaks Meet and Greet Picture Thread

I was up to shoot it next, but RS called for us to come eat, and considering I missed my last two meals, that spread came first.

Thanks @willpgn for offering it up, but it may be a good thing I didn't shoot it. Lol.

Yeah I shot it. Big mistake

These things never cease to amaze me

Good to see everyone today. Good to meet some folks I haven’t met. Thank you to everyone who helped cook, brought food, and helped get set up. Thank you @BatteryOaksBilly and Ronnie Sue for your hospitality once again. Love spending time at Battery Oaks. See you in the morning.

It was good to finally be able to shake your (left) hand.

I meant to ask you to bring those window regulators.

;)

You are getting the whole car, you just don't realize it yet. It will be a complete surprise. :D

I saw a squirrel or something after getting my plate, wanted to talk with you some more, consider yourself lucky..

We made it home a while ago. Had just enuff time to unload and get stuff in the house before it started raining.:)
We had a great time today.
My wife says thanks for all the compliments on the "crack" corn. Pretty sure she'll share the recipe with anyone interested.
Good to see everyone and Thanks again Billy and Ronnie Sue for your wonderful hospitality.
I'm calling it a day. Starting to feel like I've been up 32 hours..
Oh...wait...I have been up for 32 hours. Goodnight CFF

Wanted to jump on the bandwagon and give a heartfelt thank you to @BatteryOaksBilly and RS from @Chdamn and I. I know this is a huge undertaking for you all. We appreciate all you do to make sure us guests have a great and safe time. We’ll be in touch tomorrow to let you know of our plans. Thank you to all others who had a part in this event from the delicious food to the door prizes...maybe one year I’ll win one!

We traded lead wipes for coffee last year, crazy lady

"So @Chdamn, tell me how you rub your bologna."

I use mustard as a lube. I hold the base with one hand and, starting at the tip with the other hand, I slowly rub the entire length and girth with an open palm, twisting motion.

Once it’s wet all over I Yeet my dry rub all over it.

Another good event at Battery Oaks, love watching everyone communicating with each other and having a great. What a great group of people. The food was also outstanding Boston Butts, BBq and all the fixings. Ladies , ya'll did a great job with sweets. Thank you Billy and Ronnie Sue for another successful event.

You're making me wish I would have tried it.

I've been wanting to smoke some bologna but wasn't sure how....... turns out I've been practicing since I was 12.

Gee. Thanks @Jeppo ! Now no matter how hard I try, I won't be able to top that acrobatic feat! Oh well, if a geezer had to go down, I'm glad it was me. I've been there before -- that was not my first buck-off! Y'all go ahead and laugh it up; I'll surprise you one day with my real skills! :D

In all seriousness, I'd like to add my humble (and clumsy) thanks to @BatteryOaksBilly and Miz RS for their hospitality, courtesy, and creation of an event with such fine fellowship. As I told @Millie (when I found her abandoned at Battery Oaks while everybody else was stuffing their faces without even thinking of her there alone!!!), I am not much of a joiner, yet I managed to feel as much at home there as anywhere I've been in years. To everyone I met, I may not be able yet to keep the names straight, but I remember the friendly faces, and I really enjoyed the experience.

I wish I'd had the nerve to shoot the Wizard (not so much the Guat Steakhouse -- the waitress was too distracting!). Oh well, next time I'll show you all how to really fail that beast of a shot string!

God bless you all, and see you next time!!!

You mean I was in the same room as that culinary genius for several hours and didn't even know?

Seriously, my compliments to the chef. Another vote of interest for that recipe.

Hahahahahaaha. Yes you were. Pardon me for not introducing.
Will get the recipe out shortly.

The hyena (spelled “hyaena” in some parts of the world) is Africa’s most common large carnivore. There are three hyena species — spotted, brown, and striped. Spotted hyenas are the largest of the three. They are fairly large in build and have relatively short torsos with lower hindquarters, and sloping backs. They have excellent night-time vision and hearing.

I held my arm up so I did not touch the feathers of the Ostrich.

The largest and heaviest living bird, the ostrich is flightless and instead is built for running.
With its powerful legs, the ostrich can sprint in short bursts up to 43 mph (70 kph),
and can maintain a steady speed of 31 mph (50 kph).

I don't know what that is, and I'm also wonderin about that 'spicious looking package....

HEH HEH............. Well, that is a Hyena mounted. The package is a hogs skull and teeth from Australia. I have not got around to unpacking it just yet......... Now here is the fun part, it has been sitting there since
2013.................. I will get around to it one of these days, thought about it the other day, but got busy................

I held my arm up so I did not touch the feathers of the Ostrich.

Thanks Button, damn birds are extremely delicate................
