For those of you using .300 blk for deer, what ammo are you using? What ammo have you had good/bad experiences with?

I like 125gr Nosler BTs. Hornady SSTs would probably work equally well. I would keep your shots to 150yd or less

Where I'll be using it, the farthest shot I have ever taken was 80 yards and farthest possible may be 125.

I'm using PNW 187gr subs, but I don't recommend them. I liked them because they are quiet, but I don't like how far the deer ran.

Both deer were around the 30yd mark or closer.

Definitely staying supersonic..... Found these at a deal at Outdoor Limited. I'm gonna get a couple boxes and try them out.

I have had good results with both the Remington and the Barnes Vor-Tx. Both deer shot at about 50 yards through the boiler room, but neither made it out of the small field.

I've shot two apiece with Barnes VorTx 110gr black tip and Hornady Black 110 gr. vmax.

The deer shot with the Vmax crumpled where they stood. Massive internal damage but no exit wound.

The deer shot with the Barnes, one crumpled in place the other made two uncoordinated bounds into a Pete Rose slide.

I'm happy with either but the Barnes is my primary. Just picked up a couple more boxes.

Shots above ranged from almost straight down out to 60-70 yards. Can't really shoot more than about 80 yards from most of my stands. Thick creek bottoms.
