I just picked up a complete BO upper. Over the last week I got 1000 resided cases and set of RCBS dies. For now I am going to use one of the lowers from a AR-15.

I have never reloaded for the 300 BO and was just wondering what powder and bullet you are reloading just to punch holes in paper. The upper is 16" and right now do not have a can for the gun.

I use these over 17.5gr of H110. I don't remember what they cost but they're very reasonably priced.

Mc, I do not have a can so it really does not matter but my guess would be super sponic

Really depends on what you want. I cast lead 230s for plinking. They're not match grade, but I don't care. Shooting groups is boring to me and they're accurate enough for banging steel and killin' stuff...

You'll get better groups with FMJ/JHPs but you'll pay for it. It's up to you...

Hornady's website has good load info...

I'm shooting subs so I run 220 gr Hornady lead round nose. Over 9.6 gr H110. If things work out at my LGS I'll switch to a coated lead bullet for range and stay with the Hornady for hunting.

What rifle are you running those lead round nose through AR or bolt? I've had feeding issues in my AR. Just curious if I'm missing something.

That is the load for my AR. DO NOT run 220 gr round nose out of P mags. The raised seam in the middle drags on the nose causing feed problems that most would think are gun problems but it's the mag. I only run 220's out of steel mags and have very few issues. With subs you will get a few issues if the pressure drops on a round and it causes cycling issues. But this load has few problems and is still pretty quiet. I need to work up a softer load for my single shot, this one is a bit louder in the singe shot down range than it is from the AR. But even then, I shot to scare a dog off the property and he looked at the tree I shot instead of at me. lol So I guess it's not too loud.

Does anybody have source to get FMJ bullets? There are a could dealers on Facebook where I have bought stuff before and might have to look them up again. I really do not want to pay .30 per round just to blast holes in paper.
