Just got my barrel for my 300 BO in today and on Friday got my bullets from Missouri Bullet Company. The problem is my manuals do not show a lead bullet close to that weight. Any suggestions?

Going to different powder websites to see if there is anything there.

I loaded 8.8 to 9.9 grns. Of H110. Est. 1100 to 1200 ft/sec.
Thx

I load 8.2 of H110 behind a cast Lee 230bt. Don't have the COAL handy. Chronos about 950fps from my Ruger American, movie quiet, and cycles my AR pistol upper.

Bigfelipe, based on your data, my 1,100 to 1,200 ft/sec should be close using a 215 grn bullet. I think the OAL was 2.0140".

Sounds about right. I don't have my notebook handy. It's in my shop with my press but I will post my work up info when I get a chance. I think I have Chrono info up to 11gr with that powder/Boolit.

Bigfelipe, just back from Billy's and shot the 300 BO pistol for the first time. The 150 SP ran without any problems (about 1700 ft/sec), then the 215 grn. lead bullets with 8.8 grns of H110 did not cycles. They were est. 1,100 ft/sec. The last I tried was 215 with 9.9 gns. of H110 and 14 out of 16 cycled (est1,200 ft/sec). Not sure is the gun needs to be broken in or not.
Any suggestions?

Not enough gas? That's a good bit of H110.

What's the hardware setup? Barrel, comp, gas, BCG, spring/weight, etc?

I've been under the impression that W296/H110 is best suited to supers rather than heavy subs in the 300BO.

I am happy with 4227 or 1680 for cast or jacketed bullets over 200 grains, 10.0 to 10.3 grains of either depending on the projectile.

Bigfelipe, it is a 10.5 in barrel with a pistol length gas port at .075. The BCG is the PSA Nickel Boron, the spring and buffer came for Brownells that was advertise for a pistol length gun.

I just reloaded some more of the Missouri 215 gn bullets using max loads of Shooters World Blackout powder and 1680. Both are around 1050 ft/sec. The reloading data was only .2 off each other for max loads. Hope to head to the range Thursday afternoon and give it a try.

Thanks for letting me try your 300 BO at Battery Oaks.

No problem! Like you, enjoy seeing people show different guns. Next time, I will have the loads worked out and the gun broken in.
