Anyone have load data for a .308 Winchester subsonic?

Trail Boss to get a proper case volume to powder fill. I've heard 10gr. of Unique is a good starting point as well.

What bullet.....I have loaded 150-220 over trail boss....don't have the crono info in front me.
what's the barrel twist&lenght...

Subscribed, also in interested in subsonic 308. With a good load, I could get out of 300 Blackout reloading.

Im at 10g Trail boss, 168gr bullet, 1039fps suppressed out of a 20" Remington 700 SPS

I use a 150gr Xtreme plated flat point (pretty cheap for plinkers). 10.0gr of TrailBoss still had a little crack to it when shooting suppressed (Hodgdon says it's 1176fps); after stability testing without the can, I settled on 9.3gr Trail Boss.

Try some Lapua 200 gr subsonic bullets loaded over Trailboss. They're whisper-quiet, and very stable in a 1:10 barrel.
Remember, your favorite quiet load at 75 degrees may produce an unexpected crack at 35 degrees! Temperatures matter.

Also got good results with Speer Hot-Cor 200gr HCSP, and Sierra Game-King 165gr HPBT. But, the Lapua is my favorite.

20 in barrel with 1:12 twist. Bullet would be whatever is cheap with ok accuracy. It would be for plinking with a can, doesn't have to put 5 bullets thru the same hole.

I like the 150 gr Xtreme.settled at 9.2 then realised that I could load 300 blackout at same speed....with same projectile...and half the powder...that opened a whole diffrent can I worms.

I don't shoot them often enough to justify an entire new caliber....it would take a ton of .308 subs to offset a rifle, optics, dies, powder....

Slack has a rifle put together for this and probably has some thoughts on it.

My experience :

forget trail boss. My velocities were all over the map.
soon as the accuracy / velocities settled down, it was cracking. You can have the rest of the jug to try it out yourself.

7.5gr titegroup under a 190smk or equivalent, mag length.
a cast bullet will be 25-50 fps faster +/-.

your 1/12 bbl is less than ideal, but may work.
hard to say if it will tumble or not.
test 5-10 shots close to the muzzle on cardboard.

Joe, no need to buy any bullets for this.
I can get you going. I stacked them deep when
they were cheap.
I will be at Sir Walter Saturday, or can get them to you
via tweedle dee or tweedle dumb at zsa if it's not a snow pocolypse.

I used Titegroup to make .223 subsonics.

I just feel like Titegroup will take up so little of the 308 case, I've read about flash detonation. For those who may not know what it is, picture the round laying on its side, like it's in the chamber. The powder has so much room to spread out, it covers the bottom of the brass so when the primer goes off, the powder detonates all across the top, rather than a burn from back to front.

Trail Boss prevents that due to the case capacity/ size of each granule.

I test ALL my subsonic loads at 1" away from the muzzle and 4-6" away from the muzzle (replicating where a suppressor might be) to check for concentricity of the hole on paper and check the target down range as well.

With my 150gr Flat Point bullets from Xtreme, I was getting 4 MOA accuracy at 100 yards. Not "precise", but very consistent.

Titegroup is designed specifically for low volume, large case loadings. Picture a 38spl with 3gr.
it's like a 55 gallon drum with a pea in it.
