I tore my 300BLK apart recently to swap over to a lefty receiver. In this midst of that project I was talking to my dad about deer hunting in Michigan. MI has some messed up regulations regarding hunting with a rifle in certain zones. In short, you need to use a .35+ caliber, straight walled cartridge, when hunting in the southern areas. I hunt up there every year and haul a muzzleloader, shotgun and rifle so I can be good to go wherever we end up.

Enter the 350 Legend. Pretty much purpose built for these shenanigans.

Anybody have 1st hand experience? I don't shoot the Blackout that often, and am thinking of going this direction on the rebuild.

My ONLY hesitation is that I can't use my .300 can on it. BUUUUUUTTTTTTT.....I have a '9mm' Form 1 can that could easily be repurposed for this.

My buddy in Texas got a bolt gun in .350 Legend and he really likes it. He's only fired factory ammo in it and it seems to do pretty well.

If not for localities requiring straight walled cartridges, there would be no purpose for the 350 Legend. The ballistics are inferior to tapered wall rifle cartridges, but you use what the law allows.

It is basically a 35 Remington in a semi auto.

Good round although there was some debate that I was reading about the right diameter round for it. Some say .355 others say .357 or .356 are fine. Guess it is only a problem if you reload though.

Cut down a .35 Rem case, load the bullet long and use one of the fine lever, bolt, or break actions chambered for it. Not sure why everything has to fit in an AR platform.
