I'm shooting less and less each month, so the milestones are stretching out. Figured this was a good enough one for an update: 44,110 rounds and still 99% steel case.

End of the month I'm at a 2-gun match and I seem to recall they don't allow steel case so I'll have to see if this thing can run on brass.

The trusty G34.4 is still running fine:

Only thing of note is that the rear sight has moved a little. I had noticed that before and have been keeping an eye on it. It's not off enough to really matter, although I did have to use the irons at a match when the sun washed out the dot on one stage (just a funky lighting angle):

Some grease mess, but it's staying lubricated better than when I was using oil so I'm sticking with it for now:

Rails still look good:

I'm using up a case of wolf milspec with the red lacquered primers and bullets and you can see a lot of lacquer residue in the breach face and on the striker:

That's it for now.

What grease are you using?

Got it for use with my O/U clays gun, saw it sitting there and decided to try it in the G34. Seems to work OK and the pistol doesn't seem as 'clattery' vs. when I use oil.

Looks like some serious erosion around the striker hole in the breech face.

wondering if the striker doesn't go straight out/back anymore but kinda bounces up/down a little as well when fired. that would explain why the striker failed back a while ago, the tip is slightly contacting the edge of the hole.

or too much dryfire?

Usually breech face erosion is linked to ammo.

It is possible that it did cause the striker to fail. But I do not believe dry firing had anything to do with it.

Concur and that striker hole/breechface was the only thing that worried me in the pics
A little J-B Weld would fix that right up.

All I know that alot of money in ammo
My first thought as well. I was just thinking, $0.25 per shot, and that’s 11 grand.
