Setting up the 750 to run a few thousand 45 acp.
Got dies from my old man but having issues with the rcbs crimp and seat die.
No matter how far i run down the die body i dont get any taper crimp.
Bullet seating works fine but can still tell there is flare to the case and they wont case gauge.

Anyone have dillon seat and crimp dies i can borrow or anyone willing to help me figure this out.

Thanks

If you have room on the 750, think about getting a Lee FCD die to finish off the case. I use them for both 9mm and 45acp. Sorry I can't help you otherwise.

How close to the shell plate is the bottom of the die when the shell plate is all the way up? You may have to put the lock ring on the bottom of the tool head to get the die down far enough.

I’ve got Dillon 45 ACP dies you can borrow. I’ve even got them mounted in a 650 tool head, which I believe you’ll be able to use with minimal adjustments on your 750.

The only problem will be getting it to you. I’m in Clemmons and you are in Burlington.

Ok so more taper crimp issues.
Its at the shell plate this time, can go no further. .470 to .475 is the crimp im getting and obviously the .475 will not case gauge.

Anyone somewhat local got a crimp and seat dillon 45 acp die set? Can produce some cash for borrowing them.

Thanks

The Dillon dies use separate seat and crimp dies, they don’t seat/crimp in one step. I use separate seat and crimp dies in my setup (Hornady seat, and Lee FCD).

I have a Lee seating die I am not using, you can take the seating stem out and use it just as a taper crimp die. Let me know if you want to try that. I’m in Raleigh.

Will let you know for sure, much appreciated.
