Well you don't need to worry about people/animals messing around with your crawl space i guess, they would just die. The electrician was in my attic last week and brought out a 5 plus foot long snake skin almost 6 foot. We think its a black snake. Haven't told the wife. She would want to move.

Rat snakes are excellent climbers and tend to get in attic spaces a lot. They aren’t there for no reason, if there’s one still there, it’s because there’s something there for it to eat

In Mid to Western Texas...… having a burrow with several snakes is common - they just happened to find a spot under this guys house. They have a big rattlesnake roundup every year. There are some caves/rocky areas where it's common to find them like this...….very scary to stumble upon.

My moms hailed from the great state of Texas. Here dad told several rattler stories similar to this. Said they grow em big down that way!

Yep, climb right up the brick and find that hole in the eve vent or bird nest on the light fixture.

They can smell a bird nest . I’ve seen em climb a wall right to a nest, realize it was empty and curl up on it to wait for something to fly back to it

yea that is what people don't understand completely. My buddy had me remove a 4' yellow rat from under his halfway finished basement/storage area that backs up to his garage built into the side of a hill. Nice cool spot and lots of hiding spaces. Last fall he was inundated with house mice all over that the traps had a hard time keeping up with. This past summer we saw this guy (pictured below) in the basement area and had no issues at all this winter.

Thats how tarantulas were in El Paso at our barracks. EVERYWHERE! Ground, walls, vehicles... everywhere
I don't recall seeing many, I was there 85-88...
More scorpions than spiders...those bitches bothered me.
I saw WAY more tarantulas at Ft. Sill.

I had a black snake living in my basement for years? Never saw it but would find the skins and it crapped on my drop ceiling. I pulled the ceiling out and couldn’t find hide nor hair of it. I went about six months and no snake. Called a company to put the ceiling back in and first night, there was a spot! Finally got a guy to find it. The damn thing was almost 10 feet long! Big snake! He asked if we were missing any kids or pets! Wanted to know if I wanted it in my barn. I told him to get it out of here! If he left it, it was dying!

You must have mice ! ^^
No, I live on a farm and keep traps set and poison put out. It went outside to eat and came back in. Black snakes are notorious for coming back to some place they like. The pastures have field mice living in them. I keep my yard cut low to keep them at bay. I had 2 large black snakes screwing in my driveway 2 years ago. I went to get a shovel and when I came back, both were gone.

Plenty of tarantulas at Fort Polk, LA back in 1972.

A case of bug bombs then move out for a month or two should handle it

That's why i haven't told the wife, we live out in the country. Blacksnakes are my friends. Between the snakes and the cat their job is to keep down the rodent population and save my house from mouse and rats. Havn't had a mouse all winter. Go Snake!

I don't mind the snakes, but I hate scorpions and spiders. But I do not go looking for snakes, though. In the desert phase of deployment workup doing land nav we probably added 3 miles just giving rattlers wide berth. You could hear the "ch-ch-ch-ch-ch…." walking through scrub brush and walking over/around larger rocks.
