5.56/.223 question

Question for you folks.

Can I safely shoot 5.56 in my bolt action rifle chambered for .223?

That is what I was thinking. I understand 7.62 is OK in a .308. You agree?

I like to read the owner's manuals and even sometimes see what it says on the barrel. I am a simpleton though. I usually go back to whoever made the gun. They usually know best.

Unless it is a CZ 527. Thus checking with the manufacturer or their manual. It is very easy to check these days.

What kind of rifle do you have specifically? Not all 223’s are created equal.

No problem. I am always amazed at some of the lack of specificity when it comes to firearm ammo and the information from manufacturers. But if you stick to what it says on the barrel you are safe.
