Hi all, I’ve introduced myself in the welcome area. So my question here is asking for help. I have on order (1 year out) my 50 BMG finally. Now I have a whole new can of worms. What kind of scope should I get that will stand up to that punishment and not cost half as much as the gun?

We have seen good service here with the Barret Bolt and Semis with Night Force Products....we blew one up with an out of alignment muzzle brake and they quickly replaced it. Also, with the suppressor on the bolt gun, the punishment on the Optic goes Way up.
 
Thanks is there a certain set of rings? I’ve seen everything from offset to rings with 6 screws per ring.
 
As heavy duty as you can get. I used a set of Barrett rings on an M82, never had an issue.
 
Leupold mk 4 w/ Badger rings has served me well on bolt gun.

Thanks for your help. I look forward to the day they tell me it has shipped. I’ll look into Nightforce for sure and the badger rings. Can’t wait to try the water jugs. I’m so excited I’ve already ordered ball and tracer ammo now I just have to look at it. The brass will be tarnished from playing with it before I ever get the gun.
