Here's sumpin' ya don' see often... a 336D Marlin 35 Remington Guide Gun, with 18.5" ported barrel & short mag tube, #950 of 1,000 made for Davidsons in the year 2000.

I thought it would do well with a 1-4X20 hunting scope. Might add a large loop lever as well.

I have a 336c in 35 rem. Its a hum dinger all right. I put a weaver 4X on mine.

If'n ya knew what they are sellin' fer, and ya knew what I paid fer, you'd be givin' me a real hard time, TailH!

It was the kinda deal you are always wantin'!

So what I heard is that when you go to sell that thing in a couple weeks you can give me a screaming deal on it...isn't that what everyone else heard?

Closest thang I got to it is a Marlin 30-TK, which is a K-Mart Marlin 30-30, with 18.5" barrel, 13" mag tube and straight stock. That configuration is real handy. Funny when you put 'em side by side... one's a special edition ported Thumper, and t'other is a birch stocked store brand Zero!

NICE.

I'd like to find a 336 in .35 to cut down to 16.5", Cera Kote matte black & mount a red-dot. Would be great beside my 1895GS .45-70, but in the interim, I'ma get me a 16.5" .41Mag Henry.

Nice find Mac!! I have one and never fired it......need to remedy that! I have a few 35Rem's now, fired one of them....really need to remedy this!

I got one of the pre-safety Marlin 336 in 35 Rem. Paid $275 for it about 20 years ago. Never used it on deer.

...jus' bear, moose an' such?
No, just paper and not much of that.

My dad had a chance to buy a couple of cases of Remington ammo from the trucking company he worked for. It showed up on their dock without any paperwork. They held onto it for 2 years and no one claimed it, so he made them an offer to buy it. It had 50 boxes of .243, about 30 boxes of .35 Rem, about 12 boxes of .25 Auto and probably 40-50 boxes of .38's and .357. I think he gave $200 for all of it. He sold the .243 and .25 and kept the rest. Since he had all the .35 ammo, I found the rifle at Collias Lawing and bought it for him. Since he passed away, it has sat in my safe.

Here's my Marlin 41 Trapper that I cobbled together from a 44, shown with it's Ruger 41 brothers...

Heny Big Boy Carbine 41... that's what I want next! View attachment 5797

The Big Boy Steel .41 Carbine is exactly what I'm getting. I'd love a Marlin .41, but they've gotten outrageous & my 5.5" .41 Bisley & .41 SBH Bisley Hunter need a companion. I'm thinking a 20" .357 will follow shortly, as my 6.5" .357 BH is lonely since my 20" Rossi 92 went away.

Yes. It's a sickness.

Have some self control man! If'n ya got 41, whatdya need 357 fer?

Wal, on second thought, I could see gettin' all o' Keith's magnum cartridges... that means yer needin' a 44!

Nah. Not a .44 fan at all, but I am a huge fan of the .357 & especially the .41. Cut my "pistol-shootin' teeth" on my Grampa's 4 5/8" .357 BH, so the .357 will always have a special place in my heart & my 6 1/2"er is a lights-0ut shooter. My .41s are entirely too much fun, especially the Bisley Hunter & "just right" for all my shooting/hunting needs & I'm quite content to put 200-300 rounds of .41 downrange at a sitting.
