Went to the range to play around with the 308 out to 500 yards. Guy next to me asked me if I want him to spot for me and he did. He was shooting on the next bench. We have talked in the past because he is shooting vintage rifles. After spotting for him, I asked if he wanted to shot the 308 which he did. Then he asked if I wanted to shoot the 45-70 which I thought it was a C-Sharpe but it was a Browning High Wall that has been rebarreled. The gun had pull up peep sights on the tang and the front sight I have never seen anything like it before. It looked like a Tic-Tac-Toe board with a dot in the center.

Never shot a Browning High Wall before so I took him up on his offer. Shot the 300 yard 20" steel and hit it. I fell in love with that gun. I am sure it is out of my price range.

Those are sweet shooters. Don't now how he had it modified, but some of those vernier sights can cost as much a good glass. Great guns and I have a hankering for one also. That is to say it is on my lottery list.
