A Message to our new people from NCGO

I don't post often but I'm here every day and I'll admit I still visit one the other places often as well. I came over early on as I've personally known and worked with one the founders here for 17 years. Based on what I know of Toddje alone I can say with confidence that what happened to both of the other places will never happen here. It can't be said truthfully often but this forum is far greater than the parts that made it and it gets better every day.

I have to add that I had made many friends at NCGO and Wolfie and Gunny G were the best over there. They are good people . Wolfie told me about this site.

Welcome to them from over yonder! Glad you made it here! After the event that wolfie spoke of, I'm not surprised by the influx here!! Great site!

"Y'all kick back and relax.... you're home now."

Well, considering y'all Brangus here, I guess we may as well take a load off. ;)

And we won't be satisfied until we've been able to Brang the rest on over here....:D

Well, I got tired of the crap that was being done to the old place and finally figured out where this place was after all the censoring of this location. I see a lot of old friends are already here so I guess this will be my new home for gun stuff and fun stuff. I've been trying to get used to the new format here after a bunch of years "over there" and now it looks like the other place is trying to copy this place. Wolfie, you know if there's a M&G organized near you that I'll be there. I wasn't here to know about the Burlington get-together or I would have certainly made that, too.

I've been to quiet a few NCGO meet & greets and helped put one together in Rocky Mount.. Im glad that we have a place that we can call home again. Now I got to figure out what I'm going to do with all their shirts and hats I've gotten over all the years...

Good to see you over here. :)

I haven't done a Clayton M/G in a while - kinda got tired of organizing and having the locals bail for whatever reason.

Maybe I'll try to get one together next month...
If I wait till after Gunny G's nephew is shipped off to Boot Camp at Parris Island, maybe he can make one.
Lots of us haven't seen one another in a long time....

The shirts were from a better time. Don't blame them.

Exactly. I'll still wear the nice cap I have and won't tear the decals off my firearms gear in spite. Though I was only on NCGO for a year, a good portion of that time was rewarding.

I'm hoping that a few of the old stalwarts I've come to respect at NCGO make their way over here as I've no intention of returning.

Many choose to discard those items rather than provide free advertisement for an organization that does not support the Second Amendment. YMMV.

I like my hat, I don't wear it to town as I think concealed carry means "concealed" and everyone around here where I live is pretty much already a 2A supporter.

Despite their gun ownership and enjoying shooting, none that I'm aware of are active participants on any firearms forums (outside of buying / selling).

So, while I see and agree with your point regarding active support of an organization with less than active support for our interests, the truth is, in my case, it hurts no one and I think I look pretty spiffy in my camo cap when I elect to wear it. At least the dog never complains about it. ;)

ETA: That point was brought home in strong fashion yesterday when I was in the supermarket with the missus. I saw some guy wearing a 5.11 Tactical shirt with the obligatory "when you pry it from my cold dead fingers" message and I thought how he'd be the first one shot in a store robbery while nobody was the wiser that I was carrying a Glock and extra mag under my tee. To each his own, I suppose.

I found that the t shirts when cut small enough can be used for cleaning patches.

Just cut up some old shirts and bed sheets a couple days ago...not for patches but gun rags to wipe off CLP and oil during cleaning. (They have to be 100% cotton for my taste without any graphics. The shirts I mean. I can't recall ever having any sheets with graphics...not that there's anything wrong with it, I guess. :p)

I understand. I still have one shirt from another site, but I no longer wear it in public. I kept it not because of the organization, but because of the young man whose name is on the front of it.

That's me. I had three shirts and was glad to support them while they supported me.

The good news is there's a real site run by real gun owners here in NC. Welcome to it!

Welcome to CFF friends. Enjoy your stay.

Well here I am, another migrant from the "Other" site. After a few of my constructive criticism posts suddenly and mysteriously started disappearing I decided I'd had enough. Nice to see a few familiar names and "hey Ya'll" to the ones I'm seeing for the first time.

@KnightHawke good to have ya. Go to our welcome new member thread and introduce yourself.

All the vanishing posts are what did me in over there.

I loved ncgo. I really liked the guys that started it. I was there soon after it started. I know some people i liked there will never be here. Its crazy that we never discussed the sale before it happend. If im a member who has money invested i should know about it before it happens. F*** it i guess. I like it here.

Many of us here feel the same way when our former hang out was sold. But we have a much better place now.

Agreed. We're all fortunate to have such a diverse group of members here with tons of experience coming from so many forums and other locations to join up and share that info.

Yeah I was a vendor for years there. Price in crease to $900 a year. I was telling about here with a link, and it changed automatically. They even had this club name auto correct to nothing. Couldn't even type in Carolina Firearm Forum. Once posted, it disappeared. I ain't got time for childish games...
I found y'all by a members brilliant Morse code signature. The mods didn't catch it :)
