Don't have any context for these photos, but I imagine they're weapons that were stockpiled/discarded after the US pulled out of 'Nam.

Lots of examples spanning decades of warfare in those pics, with quite a few examples from WW2. The one that I found the most interesting was the picture of the M16 barrel with the perforated handguard.

The Thompson was officially declared obsolete in the late 50's, but its use endured well into the 1960's.

Yes, they were. I carried one for a short while in 1967. Traded it in at the armory for an M-3 grease gun.
