Considering a 3.5x ACOG (best eye relief) plus RMR to go on top of my 14” Bren 2ms instead of my normal LPVO.

The LPVO would be the PLxC 1-8 compact from Primary Arms.

Use case is 3-Gun and similar. 500yds.

I’ve always used LPVO in the past. Had an ACOG for a minute and liked it, never used in a match though.

Thoughts? LPVO would be cheaper by a couple hundred, but not a deal breaker.

I would go with the LPVO personally, and throw an offset red dot on that. I have a rifle set up that way and leave the optic on 4x and just roll to the side for closer targets with the red dot. It’s very fast once you get the hang of it.

I think the only reason to go with an ACOG would be if you’re trying to do early GWOT re-enactments and want to be period correct.

I agree with @Derek8404 . Acogs are nice but the are limited in function in my opinion. LPVO with offset red dot is a lot more versatile. And you mention using it in competitions. Looking at what the majority of the competitors are using. If Acogs were the best, they would be all over the competition circuits.

You wanted different. Be different. Get the acog, but consider the LED model. No stupid electrical tape because the FO is blooming, just dial it in. I had a chance to run a squad mate’s LED model and ♥️.

Also, since they don’t have FO, they can put the bosses to mount the RMR on the front of the scope. I think that would be the way to go if you want to run NODS.

Not mine, but this is the 3.5x LED model.

I could always keep the pig Burris XTR-II 1-8x that’s on it now.
