Hey guys
I acquired some shotgun shells from a friend. They were his fathers and he has passed away. Nothing special, but there were the ones in the pictures. Headstamp is Activ-12 and the top where the crimp is has either a orange insert or a black insert. The black insert is heavy,00 buchish, but the orange is light, just a bit heavier than an empty. Any ideas?

Thanks Ed

Standard one use shells that were sold about 20yrs ago. Cut one of each to find out the shot size.

Choot'em!!

The Activ line of shot shells were revolutionary in that they used a solid plastic case with no brass head. Which proved the theory that the brass length did NOT notate any power level as was commonly believed in that time frame. They are becoming increasingly rare but can be reloaded.

Thanks for the replies. I only got 6, 4 black and 2 orange. I plan on shooting them, but was curious to have an idea of what they were before i shot them. Googled it and found activ-12 info, but nothing about the orange or black insert.

They where your typical Walmart shell in the 80's and 90's . Cheapest shell you could buy. I think they sold for $3.49 a box.
