I’m currently building an AR pistol. I’m planning install an 11.5” barrel. To make it look like the first picture, would a Magpul Moe rifle length handguard (12.5”) work for this application? Or would I need to go with a free float handguard? I want as little of the barrel sticking out as possible. Thanks for the help

In order to set it up like the first pic, you have to do free float

You also need a flash-can that can be loosened/tightened from the front (no access to the threaded end).
Are you referring to being able to install/remove it?

I have one and just pop the Handguard off when I mess with the muzzle device.

I have actually went another route. I have a 11.3” Wilson combat barrel with a 10” BCM handguard and Surefire Warcomp. Planning to put a surefire warden on it eventually. There will be about an inch of barrel sticking out plus the Warcomp.
