Doing a little browsing this morning, I found a few interesting pages on Arm or Ally (formerly Monmouth Reloading, a site with great prices and service). It appears Aero Precision is getting into the PCC game.

AR9 PCC Lower. Description:
Coming Soon!
The Aero Precision AR9 PCC Lower Receiver is just what you need for your first (or next) PCC build. Forged from 7075-T6 Aluminum, and expertly machined to mil-specs. The PCC Upper Receiver features include .250 takedown pin holes, and a black anodized finish. Compatible with Glock and Colt magazines, and all standard AR15 components.

So looks like they are going to offer both a Glock pattern and Colt pattern lower. Here is the link to the receiver set:

Kick off your next PCC build from the ground up with an Aero Precision AR9 PCC Stripped Receiver Set. 100% manufactured in the USA to Mil-spec dimensions and coating ensure the highest quality and correct component interface. Aero Precision AR9 PCC Stripped Receiver Set is engineered to match flawlessly, providing the operator superior performance and accuracy in a durable and dependable platform. The AR9 PCC receiver set is available in Glock or Colt compatible models and accepts most standard AR15 components.

Funny enough, I can't find mention of an Aero AR9 in the works anywhere else! I'm going to contact Arm or Ally and see about getting on a waiting list, as well as find out what they are expecting pricing to be. I'll update the thread with what I find out.

I really want a 9mm PCC, but can't justify the cost yet. So, I say the more, the merrier in the market...

I just placed an order with AoA yesterday and to my surprise they charged me 4.75% sales tax. A little disappointed but not a huge deal. Not sure where the 4.75% figure comes from though.

Bumping this up because Aero posted on Facebook that they will be revealing the PCC on March 3.

Revisiting the product landing page, which is still there, it says they will be compatible with both Glock and Colt mags. Not sure how that's possible in one lower unless it uses a changeable insert like the Ruger PCC or some sort of drop in blocks like the Hahn.

Thinking about this landing page being almost 2 years old, I think we may see something awesome in the form of the delayed blowback similar to CMMG. They own Ballistic Advantage so they've got the IP and means to get some cool stuff built. Otherwise, why would they have waited this long to bring a PCC to market? They could have easily developed a Glock/Colt/Any other mag lower or lowers by now and sold as many of them as they wanted. All of this makes me thing (or at least hope) that we are going to get another delayed blowback platform.

I’m seeing “or”...so maybe not interchangeable, just two different options.

The Enhanced Pistol Caliber receiver set is available in Glock or Colt compatible models and accepts most standard AR15 components.

Fearless prediction: separate models, and it'll be a high-middle grade product that will tempt me but probably not sway me from my Ruger.

See this is where I was originally leaning too, but I have to think if they've taken 2 YEARS to get this thing to market there has to be something special about it. Literally every other manufacturer got out a PCC of some kind before Aero. Hell, LWRC even managed to get the vaporwear SMG to market before them!

My money is on a standard variant and some kind of delayed blowback mechanism.

Yeah...but they’ll beat PSA’s MP5 clone to market. 😂

I sense an underwhelming announcement on the way in the vein of the much anticipated, very late to the party, single stack Glocks. Hyped up, solid release, but nothing mold breaking or earth shattering.
And just like the Glocks, these Aeros will fly off the shelves, too.

Of course, I could be wrong. It's happened before.

Does it matter for PSA? They are selling more AKVs and their G3 AKs than they can produce! They'll saturate the market with the AKV and then ARV on Scorpion mags and then I bet you money they release their MP5 in a Scorpion mag variant. If they do that and keep LRBHO and the roller delayed mechanism functioning, they'll be a fortune 50 company 90 days after launch!

Womp. From the EPC landing page:

"The EPC utilizes a direct blowback system, which directly uses the kinetic energy generated from the discharge of the cartridge, to push the bolt back and cycle the action."

I guess a direct blowback could also be code for some other mechanism if they didn't want to spoil the surprise. Doubt it though.

Side note. AERO has recently acquired Stag Arms.

Can't wait to see their 9

Nothing wrong with direct blowback, imo.
No, I agree, I've got 3 of them. I was just really hoping for something delayed like the CMMG. Aero coming up with a delayed mechanism that worked well would continue the push for innovation from CMMG and others.

Oh well.

JP, also, is working on some type of roller-delayed blowback PCC. They claim it is somewhat influenced by the MP5 design.
Very interested to see that.

I think Aero is looking first at price/performance ratio. Good for some, not so much for others. It does seem a bit underwhelming after long wait.

I would love to see them come out with a PCC other than an AR9. IMHO the AR platform is simply over done, over kill, and inefficient size wise for a PCC. For starters there is almost no reason to have a magwell out in front of the trigger guard when pistol mags will fit in the handgrip just fine and make for a 3" shorter platform and IMO quicker, more efficient reloads.

I've had about 6-7 PCCs of various designs including an AR9 pistol I built and still own. My goto PCC now is my Beretta CX4, except for the crappy trigger it's an awesome design built from the ground up to do be what it should be: short, ergonomic, well balanced, and as such an awesome indoor HD weapon. Flame suit on. 😁

No flame suit. People rag the Scorpion all the time for being trash and it's still my favorite.

Agree on the magwell but for people who run ARs, there is a lot of benefit in having a Subgun in the AR platform. Plus let's be honest, what makes sense doesn't always matter as much as what's fun!

Totally disagree on magwell. Would rather have it in front of trigger guard like an AR15. Don't see any benefit at all for it being in the grip. I'd rather be able to choose the grip and grip angle I want.
Also, would rather be able to reload with stock on shoulder and a firing grip, like an AR. AR9's do not need to be any smaller. They can be tiny already. Much smaller than a Berretta CX4. Which seems large and clunky to me. If a grip magwell was better/faster/more efficient, they would be using them in competition.

Just my opinion.

I've actually not looked for any feedback on any of the Aero stuff since CMMG announced their conversion for their MK9 platform so you can run the radial delayed uppers with Colt mags.

A 10MM RDB using the Aero receivers would be amazing.

Just ordered one of their builder sets for one of these. Will be my first AR9 and I love Aero stuff so hopefully it runs well once I get it all put together.
