Aero vs BCM Braced Pistol Which to Choose...

The only reason BCM has any 'prestige' is Larry Vickers. Period.

I have some CCI 22LR Ammo with Troy Landry on it. It's still not RWS target, but it's better than ThunderBolts.

I’ve owned one BCM rifle, and it was pretty accurate, but not worth the money difference IMHO. I’ve built several Aero based rifles for half the price that were more accurate. Normally use Aero stripped uppers/lowers and(now)Ballistic Advantage barrels. Bought my first BA barrel last year for my AR10 build, and have been extremely happy with its accuracy. I’ve also helped a couple friends build using BA barrels. All have been just as happy.

Also owned a DDM4 and a Colt A3 HBAR, so I’ve had a good sampling of quality AR’s. MY experience with Aero products has been great, and them acquiring Ballistic Advantage gives those of us that don’t want to spend a bunch of money a way to own a quality AR.

I've said this many times before, and many people will argue with me, but for the average shooter, a DPMS Oracle at $400 is just as good as a $1500 BCM.

Meet me at the range. Bring your fancy AR. I'll outshoot you with any of my cheap 80% ar builds that cost $400...
I'll bring my BCM. You bring whatever cheap AR you want. We are going to beat them up and get them dirty first. Dirty will be the bolt, magazine, barrel, etc.. Some slams to the ground direct impact to where the barrel nut is. Sand, mud, etc. Nothing too bad though. Basically what I put my M4 through as an Army F.O.

We will shoot groups afterwards without cleaning or inspecting.

I will record it. What say you?

Gotta come to Fayetteville, but you get to prove your point.

I say I like your thinking. That's a well thought out torture test.

Fayettville is not far from me. Im in Pittsboro.

If we can work out a nice Saturday afternoon, I'd like to shoot with you, maybe grab a beer after.

I've got a couple cheap ARs we could throw around, but dropping them on the ground and kicking sand on them isn't going to make them not shoot... But it'll definitely wreck my Chinese red dots. HAHAHA!

The colder the day, the better. Where I shoot is bug heaven. You may need a 4x4 to get back there as well. Indeed, a good meal after sounds great! They're is a good local place we can hit up.

What kind of tactical bearded and broken veteran would I be without a 4x4 truck? Im ready!

Sorry, had to come back to this.

Ran across this arfcom thread I thought was relevant to this discussion. Dude has and tests a bunch of chrome lined barrels. There's pics of an BA barrel as well, which is much better.

Apparently, all this "obsessive BCM quality control from the Aerospace industry" yields barrels like this, that shoot 6moa with match ammo, that are "better" than other barrels.
At least BCM can say honestly say "we didn't make that barrel" lol, as they are really just assembling other peoples parts, then doubling the price. Expensive snake oil, indeed.
