Stupid ransomware.

Might be a good idea to change your passwords over there once it's back up and running in a few days. I'm guessing Nails has probably stroked out by now from the stress of not being able to ridicule posters for not using the search function.

I was wondering what was going on over there.... oh well. It'll come back online at somepoint. And it will doubtlessly continue being AK files....

There was another thread fairly recently with someone asking about a plastic vertical foregrip handguard in their parts kit. He claimed it was an even more ultra-rare transitional version of the ultra-rare Romanian bakelite vertical grip, but it was quickly shown through photos, product links, and first-hand experiences from other Filers that the item in question was one of those crappy commercial plastic knockoffs (I want to say Bulgarian production but I can't find a link right now) that were common maybe 10 or so years ago. Despite all the contradictory evidence, he dug in his heels and kept claiming he knew it was legit Romanian but failed to produce any tangible evidence of his own.

Guy sucks. I've seriously never encountered a more thorny, cantankerous, contentious internet warrior in all my time online. But I know he leads a sad, pitiful, lonely life, and his mod duty and god complex reputation are all he has. That, and a lot of ramen.

I saw that thread too.
You are right about the sad life, i have often looked at all of the many threads he has commented on and locked, etc. and wondered how he had time in the day to comb over all of those threads and still have any sort of life.
Have you ever seen the rare times that he has posted a clasified ad? It looks like the work of a psychopath.
 
JFC - I thought about hopping onto the temporary site, but there now I've seen a dozen-plus posts from Nails responding to posters asking if they've read whatever stickies/threads Jen has started.

Even the temp site is turning into a clown show. People stealing well known users' names (since you have to re-register on the temp site), permabanned folks showing back up, infighting, and heavy use of everyone's favorite gay slur.

Ugh, I just want to browse the marketplace for 5.45 stuff.
 
Oh yeah.... it has turned into a hell of a mess over there.

Im expecting when things get back up and running it will be even more of a mess when it gets exposed just how many have been playing games. The number of names that have already been jacked is likely much, much higher then it seems.... too many people, too fast.

Im staying out of the mire.

The amusement value has always been high but holy s**t it's awesome at the temp site. I just hope that they at least upgrade to this century level tech. You shouldn't have to have an image host to post pics. It's 2020 people.

Nails is the man! I love the ban thread. He's merciless...and thick as a brick.

That was an interesting thread though, outside of Nails' constant desire to mark his territory in conversations and be the top commenter on the forum. The Bulgarian receiver dimple pics are a nice reference point and I hope that info gets carried over or copied to the permanent site.

It's been and surely will continue to be bumpy as Jen works out the kinks. And the Files flies are already swarming the poo. That didn't take long.
