Just saw this news—sad. He’s up against steep odds. Even though his show is damn hard sometimes, I’ve ways kind of liked his persona.

I like his way of presenting this, really cool of him.
I hate to hear this about him, he's an American staple.

Also, Im hoping that he, and people who support him, can help with research on this cancer to hopefully help others (and him!) going forward.

Jimmy Carter beat pancreatic cancer. Hopefully, Alex Trebek will best this awful disease.

Hate that for him.

Outta all the game show hosts, he seems to have the most class and, to me, is the most genuine.

Smart dude, too. He speaks/understands Spanish, Russian, Italian and Swahili.

Hell...I ain't even mastered English yet.

That's grim news. I lost a friend a few years back to pancreatic cancer. It's a tough one to beat.

Shows a lot of class to make the announcement the way he did too. I wish Mr. Trebek well.

I recall that Pres. Carter had a skin cancer, a mass on his liver and later on a brain tumor,
his brother had pancreatic cancer, as well as his mother, sister and father. Everyone in his family smoked but Jimmy did not.
Four members of his family had pancreatic cancer.

For those that only know him for Jepordy take a few minutes and watch this story Fox did with him this past Summer. You would't know it to look at him but Alex is 78

If ever faced with a similar situation in my own life, I hope to be able to face it with just a 10th of the class and bravery of Alex Trebek.

Cool, calm, collected - even tossing a joke in there......and I imagine he didn’t do it so much to comfort himself (his composure suggests he’s doing just fine with the diagnosis), but to comfort millions of strangers who host him in their homes nightly or weekly.

That’s what it is to be a remarkable man, guys.

The thoughts and prayers of me and mine are with him and his.

Hard bummer. We had a family member die from pancreatic CA in August; it's an insidious and awful disease. Stage 4 is no bueno.

A sax player who played with us through most of 2017 just passed February 9th from pancreatic cancer. Prayers up for Mr. Trebek and his family.

I hope he gets his treatments in the USA, he would not make it in Canada.

That was an excellent video, thank you

a) I didnt know he was Canadian...HE MUST BE A SPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!

b) I just love his personality, his approach to things. Seems like a down to Earth guy in his private life

My father-in-law succumbed to several years ago. By time they discovered he had it, it had spread to his liver, several other organs, and the tumor had attached to his spine. 6 weeks later he was gone.
Steve Jobs, Patrick Swayze, Fred Gwynn, Michael Landon, they all died from pancreatic cancer.

What a great way to handle things. Inspiring.

Yeah, what a classy guy. Praying for him.
