We are very glad to see you folks join the site! Welcome!

We would like to know how you heard about Carolina Firearms forum.

As you know, variety is the spice of life. We here, look for diversity, multifaceted opinions on subjects, and a strong membership. All of this, makes for a great forum, that everyone can appreciate and gain from. A part of that, as you know, is the financial portion of running a forum. The longevity of a forum requires sponsorship, and a membership, that has "skin in the game".

That said, where did you hear about us? Where do you think advertising would be best spent?

Looking forward to hearing your opinions!

I believe I stumbled onto the forum while doing a Google search for some firearm-related topic.

If it were my job to market the forum and I had limited funds, I'd consider taking tables in the most important Gun Shows where I'd set out some cheap flyers. The table rental is usually quite inexpensive and the table wouldn't even need to be staffed. The nice thing about this idea is that you could test this once or twice for almost no money (table rental, a banner or two and photocopied fliers from Staples).

I'd put a unique url (i.e. cffshow.com which is currently available) on the flier that would allow me to identify when a new member comes to my site. From there, I'd be able to tally the number of new members who came to me from the flyer and then I could track how many of them become active (number of posts), who pays up, etc.

Yeah, I was a marketing guy long before becoming a gun guy.

I was sleeping and the sky opened up a blanket came down with lap tops, tablets, and samrt phones with CFF on their screens. I said lord i will not partake of anything unclean. The blanket went back into the hevens. Again the blanket came back in the same way, again i told the lord i will not partake of anything unclean. The blanket went back to the hevans. The lord sent the blanket again and i said lord i will not partake of any thing unclean. The lord spoke saying do not call anything made in the Carolinas unclean. So i signed up.

Actually, we have a few sponsors and members on the forum that do have tables at the show. Would any of them be willing to have a stack of fliers on a corner of their tables?

I are not new.
I tell folks at matches and my local range. Many seem to have never heard.
Haven't searched for the sight in a while but it usws to turn up a couple pages back.
I'd wear my shirt more but I fell for all the claims they run small... Not any forum official's fault. Gentlemen, the 2X is a parachute on a normal L/XL.
Maybe see if some matches would be willing to hang a banner? Small swag for prize tables? Or for the sponsors to display if they are willing at events/booths/shops.

Dude, that was your wife trying to smother you to death with a pillow.... Wake up!!!

I'd print some business card size advertisements with the site name and address and send 20 or so to every member each quarter and ask them to kindly drop them off at various places.

How did I get here?
Followed the trail 6mo or so ago after some Canadians bought a few things.

Not that I cared about that...the fact that "cleaning up threads due to drama" was the biggest reason - it's nothing more than censorship.
Been part of something like that and when it happens, people leave. /shrug/

Happy to be here. :)

Oh and some business like cards would be good...

Followed the bread crumbs from the other site. I like the idea of a site like this being locally owned. Als0 this site has an active rimfire room. Which I enjoy. As far as advertising the site as someone mentioned above A table at the gun shows would be a good way. Another thing is to make sure the web site code has good info so Google picks it up when people search.

Wow.......we really are seeing a number of fellow shooting enthusiasts join up with us this past week!!

Welcome to all of you and please pay it forward by reaching out to as many of your friends and other shooters to tell them where you found us and invite them to join up also.

A picture of real bacon and the site address.

I found out about this place through a thread that I was reading over at NCGO... it took some Morse code but I finally figured it out

I went over to NCGO and read that thread. Kinda what happened at the Canadian Shooters Forum.

This forum was birthed in a couple of days. Watched it grow and keep growing.

When admins start to censor post by redirecting words, it's time to leave.

Againn glad to have you here.

I learned of this forum the same evening I found out about the astronomical increase in the cost for vendor advertising at NCGO, as well as their censorship at which time I decided to walk.

Calling it only partial or targeted censorship is sort of like referring to a person as only partially pregnant. You are or you aren't. They are and that's that.

Not something I can abide even though I don't advertise and had no dog in the fight regarding competing firearms sites. (I was a paying site supporter, however.)

And so it goes...

I like this idea...its at least worth trying.
I looked up table rent for the Dixie Shows and the site said $65 in advance. It didnt specify if this was for one day or both, but it doesn't really matter.
I will foot the bill for the table for both days at two different shows (one ENC, one WNC)if the Forum Staff thinks this is something worth pursuing.
Maybe get all the site sponsors to send in their own business cards/flyers for the table...if a PAID member has a business, maybe let them send in advertising materials as well. Show potential new members we are more than just the proverbial gun nuts. We are a part of their community, too. At the same time, get all who want to send in promo materials to pay a couple of bucks (except for actual site sponsors, they already pay enough to the site) to help underwrite the cost of the banner.
All the coordination is a bit beyond me, so I'm just kickin tires here to see what happens...

Awesome of you. I'll man one both days if it's near me. And we have a couple banners. One of the eastern side of the state and one here centrally I think
