Alright who carries “2011”/double stack for EDC?

Here’s my cs and c2(with full size grip) cs has thinner grip and proprietary mags, and 3.5 inch barrel vs 3.9 inch

Idk about having the special mags. Which do you prefer?
I just have never found IWB comfortable for anything this size. Usually throw a shield iwb before going into a store and take it off when I’m out. During colder, I carry owb and just wear a coat

I wouldn’t really say it’s comfortable, but for me the peace of mind knowing I have a capable defense weapon is worth giving up a little bit of comfort. Very subjective I know. The cs does carry a bit nicer.

I’m staring at a blemished c2 right now, sweating…. This is a lot of money for a pistol.
I have shot a P before that is a relatives and it was amazing.

Unless it’s gonna be a carry gun, get the P. For sure.

Some people even carry the P 😳

It will be. I currently carry a M&p compact 4”, love it so much, I foolishly bought a 2nd on impulse that I’ll never use haha.

My old back dislikes many steel frames these days, but does this very favorite old Para P13-45 count? Not a Stacatto, and maybe a “pre 2011”…

Why it’s a favorite. 54 rounds, 2 at a time from holster at 10 or 15 yards (? Some years ago now), on an early Saturday morning. Great recoil impulse and groups like this. Mags were $10 each for years, and hold “only” 13 rounds of 230gr HST, but that can work.

Favorite gear when it was new, from Lobo Gunleather. Belt should be a Mernickle.

I have wanted one for a good bit now. I have come close twice to pulling the trigger but I can’t get one in my hand when my fun money is right.

What holster is that?

Edit. NVM, I zoomed in and saw the name on the clip.
It’s the best IWB holster I’ve used. I have their OWB as well and it’s also rock solid.

Really dig the fabric overlays.

Yup, that’s what caught my attention, I love fabric overlays. Checked their site out, sucks, because they don’t make one for the Xmacro yet.

Oh nice, my dumbass just didn’t scroll all the way down. Do you bump your finger at all on the wing when drawing?
Lol. Haven’t bumped the wing when drawing as far as I’ve noticed.

Thinking about switching from a 43x to a C2…
Anything I should be aware of?

Also, I was at a LGS that sold Staccatos, the stock trigger was good. Not amazing, not impressive, not nearly as awesome as some custom tuned 1911’s I have owned or fired, particularly ANYTHING after Sam Hatfield (RIP, long live the king) got his hand on…

I’d get a CS, not a C2 for carry. They are the size of a beefed up 43x. Best carry sized gun I’ve ever shot.

Used to have a Wilson Combat SFX9 and this shits all over the Wilson as a carry gun.

If you’re near wnc or ever pass by you’re welcome to shoot the CS before you make up your mind. It’s a big decision/purchase!

I appreciate the offer, but I live in Austin TX now.

I did find a nice C2 that I made an offer on.

Question for the thread-
I ordered an Atlas Gun Works polished bow and flat trigger. Will this improve the smoothness of the trigger beyond ergonomics?
Or will I have to get it tuned and polished by a 2011 smith?

Cosmetic only.

After you get your C2 put a couple thousand rounds through it, and think very hard about whether a “better” trigger would be a good idea. My C2 has a very good trigger. It isn’t as light or otherwise excellent as my competition gun, an STI DVC Limited, but it is very good. I don’t think it would really be a good idea to carry a 2lb trigger with almost no movement on the pull or reset. Despite all my competition muscle memory, I am not sure I would trust myself 100% not to ND under the stress of a real defense situation. And I am sure that under that kind of stress (adrenaline) 2lb vs ~3.5lb is not going to affect my accuracy or double tap times at all :) A little more safety margin is a good thing I think, and I don’t see any downside really.

I _love_ good triggers for action shooting (hiperfire, super3gun, volquartsen, etc…) and precision rifle shooting (triggertech diamonds mostly). But IMO I would not carry a great action shooting trigger. Poor risk/benefit ratio.

Heck, I’d be very nervous if a deputy pulled me over and wanted to clear my C2 (which I would obviously try to avoid) - there is always a chance that someone besides you might handle it, whether police or medic or family.

Maybe you know this already. In that case, your C2 probably isn’t going to need any tuning to be perfect for carry. Decide after it and the action are broken in and smoothed out with at least 1000 rounds.

I have not used atlas triggers, but do have a red dirt. Didn’t change trigger feel.I did it because I prefer flat triggers and aesthetically it is a plus as well. Mine is set at about 4 lbs which may be a bit on the heavy side for some folks but I prefer 3.5-4 lbs in a EDC or defensive gun.

Ok well, that was interesting.
Got the Atlas.
It didn’t fit AT ALL. Spent a few hours grinding and polishing the trigger to get it to fit.
Finally accomplished that, then the grip safety kept getting hung up.
Spent almost 5 hours on that. The Atlas trigger bow was about 1.7mm too tall. Had to grind and polish that and then hand fit.
Finally got it working.
Smooth as butter now but I did curse this one for a while.

This was my experience as well with a recent Atlas trigger. I thought I got a defective one when I put my mic on it, hours and hours later it fits, kinda. I probably need to tweak it some more and then refinish it.

Exactly…
Happy that I fixed it myself.
Severely unhappy that this was supposed to be a drop in trigger. 2-3 hours on the trigger shoe itself, getting it thin enough to slide free. 4-5 hours on the bar, as that was way more precise.

Just got it in yesterday. So far, I’m a big fan, very comfortable.
