Posted a thread about a product to share with members and the Amazon URL to the item when just pasted into the thread kept being interpreted as MEDIA and didn't show up.

I worked around it using 'insert link' but I suspect posts referring to products on amazon might be getting interpreted oddly

I see just the amazon logo and it's not a link to anything. Pihole is blocking google tags but does resolve the AWS address. Here's the code my browser reports:

Code:

Yep, that's the issue. I took the native URL at the top of each of the two items and just pasted it in without any edit. It should resolve as a hyperlink or if xenforo has some sort of Amazon link interpreter, an Amazon item link. Not media.

Edit I tested the same item URL on a vbulletin forum with Amazon plug in and it works normally, so no issue with the URL

Hmm, let me look at it with my phone and disconnect from house wifi. Like @Catfish we have a pihole at our house that blocks ads so maybe that's causing the problem

Yep, it shows up just fine with link to the product when I'm not routed through the pihole on my iphone. EDIT it also works fine with iphone and ipad on Safari WITH the pihole, so this is likely a browser issue.

Strange thing is though it works just fine on vBulletin with the way it resolves the URL and formats it into a little Amazon link on both PC and Apple browsers.

Nope, bypassing pihole made no difference. Switching from Firefox to Edge does make it work. It's a firefox problem or something related.

ETA: also fails on my phone with firefox browser but succeeds with Chrome.

I'm on Win10 / chrome if that provides any input if CFF admin folks look into this

Looks like same issue with a similar Amazon link in one of your replies found by another member, so may be a broader issue

It works fine on systems without adblockers. It may not work properly on systems with adblockers, as the preview mechanism that pulls info from the Amazon site is seen by some adblockers as ... an ad ... and, thus it's squashed.
