Amending a trust to add my father so he can file his eForm 4

I added my father to my trust, got it notarized, and he went to file his eForm 4 for his Turbo T3 and the dealer said they didn't need the trust. He created his eForm account and needs to create his silencer shop account and still get his fingerprints and photo taken. I think we need to upload the revised trust to my SS account along with his and link our accounts together? I'm just confused.

Well, the trust is the person filing the form. And you either have to provide a copy of the trust, or if it’s within 24-months of getting an approval from the last time you submitted as that trust, you can provide a letter in lieu of the trust…but the problem is that letter has no say no changes have been made. And that can’t be true if your father has been added.

So a copy of the trust needs to be provided, as well as fingerprints, photos, and RPQ forms for everyone considered a responsible person…which at a minimum sounds like you and your dad.

Don’t know anything about SS and linking accounts together.

Does Silencer Shop handle the trust? Or does the dealer? I swear the dealer made a copy of the trust and I did my fingerprints and photo at the same time but for some reason he said the trust wasn't needed and didn't get fingerprinted. He said "something" is going to take a few days so maybe he has to go back later to do those.

I don’t use SS. Don’t know how they do it. My local dealer uploads a PDF copy of my trust into eForms when he submits one for me. Or I upload it if I’m doing a Form 1.

you can upload your own trust into SS, and they will ask for that before you can submit
they should be able to have an account/file for him if you add him as an RP to your account, and send him docusign links for the signatures. Find a kiosk and if he has a link you should be able to do fingerprints there. The dealer might charge you though, because the kiosk can cost them per use.

If you are going through silencer shop. Eventually you will need to upload the trust to silencer shop. It will be after you create the accounts. May have been a miscommunication with the FFL.
