And The Marksmanship Award Goes To...

Awwww...but she's the dramatic and fearful for her life victim. Can't you tell that by the camera angles, the slow zoom effect, and the silence between her well-thought comments?

55 rounds and they found her asleep in the car.

“Unfortunately sometimes things are said that’s not specifically accurate”, said Hernandez.

There is a Whole Lot of WTF with this entire thing, from her to the LEO.

If she called the police and told them she had an AK and wanted to kill cops like the article stated then I have no sympathy for them shooting at her if she had anything in her hands at all.

Granted they are idiots that they fired 55 rounds and never hit her but I’ve got no sympathy for her on this one.

She brought the action upon herself, that's undeniable. What's also undeniable is that the cops shooting at her need to find other jobs if that's the best they do when they use their weapons. Half of them must have had blisters from reloading.....

They don't use revolvers anymore...
The dope that shot up the cruiser appears to have fired half or more of the rounds*, which only puts him part way thru mag 2 of most common service autos.

*Not positive on roundcount since one part says 50+ into the suspect car, which may not include all the cruiser strikes, and another says 55+ fired at, which should include the cruiser strikes.

Beers and atta boys all around, maybe a service medal of some sort.

ETA: possibly mag 3, forgot the .40 part.

Must've been to the NYPD-Annie Oakley Training school of Marksmenship. They should've stuck with revolvers and breathing exercises.

No reloading needed. One guy shot up his own cruiser 28 times, most likely with an AR with one of those scary 30rd clip mags thingys reserved only for LE in Colorado. There's half your shots right there. Add in a few .40s with 12+rds each and a shotgun you get to 55 real quick without a reload.

ETA: Beef15 beat me to it.

LOL @ the deputy shooting the car he was taking cover behind 28 times without realizing it.
My buddy, another tac medic, was in a bear cat in another undisclosed county. One of the officers pointed his rifle... Was looking through his optic, out of the port... Guess where the barrel was? When the perp pointed his rifle, he squeezed off three rounds in the Bearcat. Durr dee Durr.....

"We have to respond to that behavior".

There it is folks. This specific group of LEO's aren't responding to legitimate threats of death and/or great bodily harm; they're responding to a behavior.

Don't wait until you see a gun (re: the recently acquitted officer who shot the crawling man), react to the behavior instead. That creates enough plausible deniability to guarantee your innocence.

Don't forget this gem of "due process":
"A legal review of what happened concluded officers were justified in their actions since they believed Johnson had a gun and intended to kill or hurt them."

The only thing needed to justify attempted murder is a thought.

More like PASSED OUT. She sounded quite drunk on the recorded call. She said she was armed and that she was going to kill cops. I hope she spends a long time in prison for making "terrorist threats."
She is darn lucky to be alive. Maybe she was attempting Suicide By Cop.

Prison? What's that?

Johnson was charged with numerous felonies stemming from that standoff, but court records show most charges were dismissed when Johnson pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor menacing. She was sentenced to three years probation.

I was going say, I bet the deputy was looking through an optic and not accounting for height over bore

You mean like this:

Totally Operator. Complete with 5:11 khakis.

I'd not shoot over my hood like that anyway. That muzzle blast will mess up the paint. Oh, and incidentally.... Bullets will too.

When I was a kid, my dad and I were invited to a hunt club with a good friend of mine and his dad. The guy worked as a suit for CAT machine and threw some money around. He was showing off his new V8 4x4 Explorer (why yes Jurassic Park was in the theatre lol) and a Browning 7mm Mag he’d gotten for deer season. He braced over the hood of his new truck and touched a few rounds off....not realizing the integrated comp on the barrel melted a huge swath of paint off the hood down to the metal. Can’t buy brains and that moment was priceless. My dad still tells the story

She supposedly took a bunch of pills trying to off herself, then called the cops and made her stupid statements.

So she did bring this upon herself, yes.

But every one of those cops should be replaced with people that show some form of common sense.

Amazing. At no time did the thought "Hmm I wonder if there are kids in the back seats" cross the mind of any of these peacekeepers.

Well you know, heat of the moment kinda thing. These were split second decisions, spread out over 30 minutes, these guys were making.

Funny thing, did not hear the reporter ask her during the interview about what she said during the phone call to police. I agree with Chdamn, no sympathy.
