We had another large group yesterday and had to split into morning and afternoon sessions. This bunch was from 3 areas. Most were from Miami, FL with a couple from West Virginia and Raleigh, NC. We had some more range upgrades that the guys from Miami finished up and installed yesterday. And as most times, I have some great pix shot by my dad who likes to come up to camp with us. He's 88yo and still loves to get around and take pictures.

Here's a couple shots of the FL guys putting in the new benchrest they made. We made sure it was at an optimum height and met all relevant building codes. The guy with the level is a certified structural engineer so if it falls down, we'll just blame him :D :D

We also have a new loading table that's at a usable height. In the Church of the Holy Black, we preposition the Communion Tray for the lay shooters ahead of time. In words that the barbarians of the smokeless world understand, we speed things up by premeasuring charges for the kids and eliminate error possibilities by eliminating the students handling and measuring powder. They do get instructed on that part and as they do the loading, we're there to monitor each step.

Bob is our resident flintlock expert. Here he's demonstrating his Fusil de Chasse. It has a really fast lock time and Bob doesn't miss with it.

Jim does a great job instructing. Here he's working with a father who is an adult Scout leader and his son. We see this combination fairly often so in our work in camp, we do touch quite a few adults and introduce them to the Holy Black.

Bob might be flintlock expert but he's a great instructor with percussion as well.

And then there's this guy, me. Here I'm working with two kids from FL. They listened and their shooting improved dramatically as we went along.

And the program director, Ricky. He's working with another father/son pair.

The final part of the program we call "You shoot'em, You clean'em". Our new loading table is doing double duty and is the perfect height to do cleanup on.
