I’m going to be in Asheboro next weekend and I noticed this shop is posting some promising Black Friday deals. I just wanted to check with the forum and see if anybody has purchased here and whether they have any feedback about their experiences.

I live here local, never heard of them either. Going to have to do a drive by and see what the place is.

Never heard of them, Carolina Guns and Gear is a awesome shop though. Right beside of Zaxbys across from Walmart.

And Their range is 5 miles east of town on 64.

Frankly, a poor business name IMO.

Funny you mention this, brings up a conversation I had just Tuesday night of this week.
Was talking with a good friend about all sorts of stuff, and, somehow, at some point guns came up.
This guy has a couple of guns, left to him by his grandfather. He's not really a shooter though. He's not anti-gun, but not pro-gun either.

(for reference, for my college graduation gift they (he and his wife) got me a 100$ PSA giftcard...I offered to take them shooting, burn up some of the 45acp that I bought with that card and they declined, no interest)

Anyway, one thing he said he really didnt like about the 'gun culture' was that as he was traveling around the country he was shocked by how many places made their business/guns sound like toys. He recalled one place called the "Grown Up Toy Store" or something like that. It rubbed him wrong because he was raised to always treat firearms with respect, they arent 'toys'

I think this sort of has the same feel, a 'candy shop' of guns.

Personally, when I first opened the thread I just figured the OP wanted to support a small candy shop that was very pro-2A lol

@HMP, totally agree, that is the dangerous part of minimizing the potential danger factor outside of "gun guy" circles, even if only by 0.01%. I don't have any issue with us talking about "big boy toys", "Legos for men", "Toys that go bang", but I'm sure it concerns, confuses, or turns off those outside of the hobby. Part of the PC world we live in... "guns are the debil!"

PC or not, its a turnoff for some folks
And I dont think we need to be pushing people away from our cause

It does exist. I just looked it up on Facebook. It is in some small neighborhood. The guy is building ARs and stamping 2ACS on the lowers. I don't think he's milling them. Wierd. It has good reviews.

Notice the bubblegum machine in the crossed ARs and the safe, fire, and slide fire by the selector switch.

He doesn't manufacture any parts, just assemble. His typical customer is a first time buyer. He'll bullshit them into thinking his guns are super high-end customs.

That is exactly the feedback I wanted as a first time shopper. I went with the Stag Arms Black Friday deal instead.

I agree that it seems like an attempt to counter the “murder death kill device” approach of the antis. Marketing is a fickle thing, it would be interesting to find out whether not this particular marketing is an advantage or disadvantage overall.

0D9B85BC-1E87-439C-9CE0-B9DF918AFCF9.jpeg Just a heads up I have purchased several of his guns and so have plenty of my friends. He started out years ago modifying the ar. Then got his ffl, yes it’s in his garage so he does not have any overhead. So his cheaper guns are better quality then store bought ones. And he does build some nice high end ones and long range ones as well. Ask to shoot mine anytime you want too. And just an FYI. It’s his hobby not his job.

Actually he started out illegally manufacturing (building) rifles. Promoting himself on facebook like a dumbass. He also used to coat them with aircraft paint, runs and all! His product is better these days but still lacks any real reason or purpose in the parts selected because he doesn't understand any of it himself. He mostly chooses parts based on looks and price. He thinks he's a master AR builder but he's proven otherwise many times. All that being said, it's not that difficult to assemble an AR.

Thanks for posting the pic, it's worth a thousand words.
