Any idea on origins?

A friend of mine is looking at a long rifle that is for sale, and I have no information. Anyone on here know anything about what is being looked at?

Well, there was a Christian Huffman that made Kentucky rifles in the late 1700's, but I doubt this is that old.

I will say that the "hoffman" stamp looks awfully crisp to be anything but a modern (say <30 years) build.
