In the Raleigh area.

I'm looking for a new gun, but a trade in works perfectly for what I want. Would like to pick up a G26/27.

In looking at them online, I'm seeing them for $300-350, but shipping/transfer adds $70+ to it, which depending on the gun gets it close to list of a new gun.

I missed a deal on a 27 a couple of weeks ago, at $300, and kicking myself for missing it.

Any shops do police trade ins locally?

Check out Kings, they are in TN, have lots of police trades, $12 to ship to your FFL and no sales taxes.

Check the used case at Triangle Shooting Academy, in Raleigh, they get lots of trades.
That's where I missed the G27 first, and I'm kicking myself for it!

I have looked at Kings quite a bit, but I'm in no real rush, other than want.

AIM surplus has plenty of trade-ins, and will ship right to your tabletop FFL around the corner. You DO have a tabletop FFL right? If not I would rectify that situation. Retail is dead lol

I don't, it always not anymore. I had a guy that would do it but he stopped for a different job that made him travel more.

I also typically don't buy enough online to make it a worthwhile thing, but that may change coming soon.

You can search for area FFLs pretty easy online. I have about 12 in a 5 sq mile area of SW Cabbarrus county.

How about mall security?

I'm going to say any job where somebody carries a duty issued weapon.

My cousin worked animal control in Watauga Co. I can tell you that driving down some dirt road in Pottersville or off Meat Camp to take somebody's dog away isn't an enviable situation.

Of course, he wasn't allowed to just roll up, flashbang the baby, shoot the owner, shoot the neighbor looking out the window, shoot the dog and collect disability for PTSD.

I ordered a police trade in USP45 from Kings last year for about $500.

I placed the order and immediately sent them an email asking if i could pay them an extra $20 to get them to pick me a nicer one out of the barrel... No reply. Nothing.

It took them over a week to ship which was also a little frustrating.

The usp I received was not bad, but not especially good condition either. And worst of all, it smells like a head shop. It stinks like incense. And, I immediately cleaned it. There was glitter inside the mag well and under the slide... I've cleaned it, shot it, cleaned it again and it still stinks like incense.

I guess I got one that belonged to an undercover narcotics officer who spent lots of time staking out strip clubs...

I like buying used guns. But I don't think I'll ever order another used gun online, sight unseen... I got luck of the draw and was not very lucky.

Had one glitch with Kings, they had some staff changes, small shop.
They got my order shipped. You can refuse any used gun, they will take it back as long as you do not do the transfer.

Kings is a great place for deals but most of the stuff I have seen is fairly rough.

Kings posts photos from several different guns so the condition is representative of the lot.
Used to get a lot from Bud's but Kings is now my first choice for police trades.

Here's the link to the thread i posted last year when I bought my usp45 from Kings.
It's really not bad. I guess I was complaining too much in this thread.
It's good. It just stinks like stripper farts....

Put the empty gun with mag out and slide locked back inside a zipbag with a dryer sheet for a few days.
