I have some questions with regard to zeroing the multi-turn turrets.

Why does the manual have you zero the turrets twice? I just bore-sighted and zeroed the scope. Have not zeroed the turrets yet. Wasn't sure if there was something unusual in the process .

I don't own a S&B (but wish I did!) but are you referring to a zero stop?

No zero stop. I have that on my Nightforce NXS 8-32x56, so I'm familiar with that set up. In the S&B manual, it has you bore sight the rifle/scope, then zero the turrets, then shoot and make the adjustments, followed by zeroing the turrets again.

The only reason I ask was because I'm up into the 3rd turn of my multi-turn turret. The turret has a window on the top to indicate which set of rotations you are in from zero to make adjustments and return to zero quicker. My Nightforce just has hash marks on the turret to indicate travel from zero, but you don't have an exact number of turns unless you're counting them.

Hmm, not sure. I don’t have three turns out of my turrets, only two. I have a PMII and it has built in zero stop. All I know is that zeroing is recommended to be done on the first rotation. If you’re into your third rotation in order to zero I would get a higher moa/mil base.

I have it mounted on a Spuhr 20MOA cant base.

Hmm. On mine I could have zeroed in the second rotation, but chose to do it in the first. I think that might be what the manual means when it talks about zeroing the turrets, and then the rifle, or visa versus. With the rifle zeroed are you able to unlock the turrets set screws and turn them back down to the first rotation and then lock them again?

Yes. The multi-turn turrets are able to be zeroed back to 1 when zeroing the turrets themselves.

I just found the procedure odd to do the whole process twice. Once after bore-sighting, and again after confirming zero.

It's actually in the second rotation and not the third of the multi-turn turrets.

Just zeroed everything. Seemed to be written a bit more complex than it actually was. It was much easier than my Nightforce NXS with Zero Stop.
