Ok I have a Hornady and the damn thing throws a over charge every 3 of 5 times. I have to hit the dispense button at 11gr to have it slow down by 20gr and trickle to 21gr. If I let it slow by it's self it dispenses 21.2-23gr.... I have it on the slowest setting and am tired of having it being a glorified manual scale.

It doesn't only do this with stick powder it is as bad with ball and flake powder, although the flake powder for my .45acp loads is only 6gr so it dose not get up to speed.

So what should I replace it with?

I bought the intellidropper. It’s pretty good. I might have 2-3 out of spec loads over 100 throws. My next will be the auto trickler when I’m ready to spend the $.

Tilt it slightly to the rear when in use.
Call Hornady. I think there is a replacement tube they will send.
I hear good things about the RCBS.
Tilting will help, just be sure to run the calibration procedure in the tilted position.

Two or three out of spec loads in 100 is not my idea of pretty good. How out of spec are they?

.1 gr. It alarms when it doesn’t throw the correct charge. Ain’t hard to just dump it back in the hopper and let it throw another. Still better than doing several hundred by hand and a balance beam scale.

I would not be disappointed with only 0.1 grains. Sounds fine, especially since the incorrect charges are detected before they go into the cases.
