Did they have the heating issues with the screens again today? Some of them quit working on the late relays yesterday.

On my first rapid prone, on my second shot, I got in a hurry anticipating my clip change and forgot to verify my target. And . . . I promptly cross shot the target next door. Even worse, the shot was either a 9 or a 10. Had I shot MY target instead, I would have gotten a bronze.

Lol...I cross shot my last 3 in modern military prone rapid... Wasn't in medal contention though. That's gotta be a tough way to lose one

Honestly, I am just now learning how to really shoot offhand unsupported. So I was excited to even get close to a medal. On my second relay, I was 189/3X after slow and rapid prone, but by that time, I was too hot and dehydrated and got the finger and leg cramps - and my standing offhand went straight in the toilet. But I was paired with a guy that could flat-out shoot (he got a gold) and he taught me a LOT, so I have some stuff to work on now for offhand.

I've been shooting high power and vintage off and on since 1982. I learn something from someone else every time I shoot.

What kind of coat do you use?

I have 2. I have an old vintage stiff canvas one with the big buttons and the heavy rubber pads and I also have a new modern Creedmoor style knockoff. The knockoff is pretty good, but not great. I really want a real Creedmoor hardback, but as an occasional competitor, I just cannot bring myself to drop that much money on one. But I have noticed that the coats really do make a difference in my shooting.

I use a Creedmoor hardback, but noticed very few of them around me last week. So few that I went and checked the rule on "hardback" coats, lol. I had one of the range officers take a funny look at mine after my 2nd relay when I took it off and stood it up on end. It`s 4 yrs old and I take care not to crease the back.

Nice! Do you think a hardback is really worth the cash for anyone, or do you think the advantage of it is lost on (or undetectable by) newer/inexperienced shooters?

It helped my standing scores a ton when I got it. I just had to get used to cinching it up so tight I could hardly breathe

I was amazed at the difference in stability when I dumped the tennis shoes and got a stiff pair of combat boots and laced them up tight.

One day me and a good buddy of mine will make it. Until then, we'll both live vicariously through those of you that do make it

I rubbed in a few coats of B.L.O. and rubbed in a few coats of Tom's Mix over top. The stock looks very good, but not "candy".

I also slapped on a set of late lockbars for shits and giggles.
