Anyone have a PWS rifle/PCC and if so how do you like it?

I am looking at these guns and wondered if anyone has any experience with them? Most of the stuff you find on the web i have a hard time trusting. Thanks in advance for any info.

I've got the MK1 Mod 2 16.1" and love it. Plenty of pics on here of it. I also have a PWS Mod 2 lower and used the Bootleg upper to build my 8" .300 Blackout SBR.

I'll be buying the 11" upper soon enough. Should be a lot of fun with a can.

Are you asking about specific brand? Or PWS/PCC style guns in general?

My 9mm AR/SBR w/4.5” barrel is just more giggles per round than a fella ought to be allowed.

I have 9mm AR platform pistol (SBA3 brace) and a Kel-Tec SUB2000 9mm ... both take Glock mags. Both host can be used as suppressor hosts and with subsonic ammo get plenty of grins out to 100 yards or so ... especially the AR style pistol which actually wears an Optimus suppressor pretty much all the time. I was going to SBR a Glock Mag pistol caliber lower but I realized I don’t hardly shoot my 5.56 SBR now.

I personally believe an AR style 9mm pistol suppressed is 2nd only to a suppressed .22lr for craps and giggles.

ETA ... for the price point your looking in I’d also say look at the CMMG Banshee 100 (Glock mag 9mm) which runs right at the same price. If I was going to drop money in that range I like the Banshee 100 and later add a SBA3. Their radial delayed blowback setup is very nice and while it might just be me the one I messed with has a softer recoils impulse (as if 9mm has much anyway) and sips less gas back when suppressed.

Thanks! What is the recoil impulse like versus DI? Let's face it .223 is not a heavy hitter but i am curious.
Honestly most of my DI guns are mouse farts compared to like my .308 N6. I think it shoots a bit flatter, but that could have been the comp on it more than the gas system. I have a Key Mount on it now for whenever my cans get approved, so I can compare to my BCM next time I shoot (whenever that may be...)

I am definitely looks at their PCC. But i was wondering about buying a 16 in 5.56/.223 upper as well.

Eggzacachary what I was thinking. I took my brother to the range and let him spend some time shooting my suppressed 9mm AR pistol with a 5,5" barrel. He was smiling the entire time. The first words out of his mouth when he finished the first magazine were "I've got to have one of these". He's saving money for the pistol build.

PWS is a brand that makes rifles and PCCs.

I'd buy this one: https://www.ar15.com/forums/Equipme...23-Wylde-Great-deal-1250-shipped-/21-1857301/

Then get the appropriate MLOK rail from PWS for like $100 and then shoot the balls off of it.

That is damn good looking rifle huh? I want a PCC first. I have a couple of AR's and was thinking about my options. I was listening to a Primary and Secondary podcast about PWS and it got me thinking about them. They are lighter than a 416 and have a long stoke piston that supposedly smooths out the recoil impulse. You get the reliability of a piston gun. I had never really thought about them before listening to the podcast.

I dont think the PWS PCC is going to be piston gun - per their website: "The PWS PCC uses a straight blowback system...."

The PCC is not piston. Even their . 300 is not a piston (or it didn't used to be).

I'd get the PWS PCC if I liked the look. I feel like the Glock lower 9mm formula is so standard and proven now you should just buy the one you like the looks of or has some feature you think is cool.

I looked hard at the PWS pcc a few more than back. I think Ranier had them on sale pretty cheap. I emailed pws asking for some specs - weight specifically - but they didn't have that info. I passed.

Yea the PCC is not a piston gun. I started looking at them as a comparison to a 416 clone, but then saw they had PCC's and their prices are good. The mag well is made for a 9mm mag, not a 5.56. I'm torn on whether to get a PCC that excepts glock mags or colt.

Personally I think the look of the Colt style is more appealing in looks for sure but I have a trunk load of factory Glock 17 and factory 33 round fun sticks which are run and drop free so damn reliably (not sayin Colt isn’t as reliable) I chose Glock style.

Yea, i am not sure what my hang up is with Glock mags. Ryan at Apex had a bunch of Colt steel mags and those things just looked solid.
It's the mag angle. Same reason I don't have a Glock AR9 PCC (but have a G17 and G19 and would likely get a Ruger PC9). I went with the Colt pattern lower and after the initial magazine investment, I am glad I did. Not like I have an 33 round Glock mags either nor do I shoot my Glocks enough to want 33 rounders.
