Anyone have any experience with an auto buying service? Not necessarily like Costco's or a credit union auto buying service for new cars, more like a buying concierge service for used cars. Where you explain exactly what you are looking for and they find it, maybe deliver it to you, etc., all for a set prearranged fee. Not sure something like this even exists the way I imagine it. This would mainly be for late model used cars, still under factory warranty, and mostly for popular stuff, not overly specialized vehicles.

Anyone know of anything like that around NC anywhere? I was just thinking if one had a dealer license, virtually no overhead, mainly referral/word of mouth type customers you could really save folks a ton of money, stress, headaches, etc., over the traditional car shopping experience.

I don't know if such a service exists . You'll do better doing your own research. I wouldn't trust someone else to research a used car for me. Too many variables.

With the internet, I don't see how a service could make any money, while saving buyers money.

I believe is such a service you are looking for. They deliver the vehicle to you on a flatbed (well according to their commercial)

The Car Chick. My wife is friends with her, she helped my wife get a good deal on the RAV4 she bought earlier this year.

Bought my last car through usaa. Saved me a bunch off sticker and even off dealer cost.

It's kind of funny you started this thread as I just put a request into Costco to get hooked up with a dealer. I've used our Credit Union before. I'm not sure it saved me that much money but certainly helped with regards to time and hassle. Tagged for interest.

That looks more like an online dealer than what I was thinking as they already have a set inventory. I'm envisioning more of a service that finds you what you want and still saves you a ton of money.

Ive never heard of her before. Went to her website, it seems she is more of a "middleman" that negotiates on your behalf, would that be accurate?

When my wife totaled her IS350 earlier this year, the Car Chick gave her a survey of sorts to help figure out what was most important to her as far as what to look for in a vehicle. Once completed, she used those parameters and our budget to shop for used vehicles. She then presented my wife with a list of what she found, and when my wife told her which ones she was interested in, she had those vehicles brought to our house where my wife could do a test drive. She also helped negotiate price too.
