I have been shooting it a bit the last month. I am always looking for drills that make each round in a range session count. I have been making my own targets with sharpies because well I am cheap when it comes to targets but I am thinking of getting some of the actual targets. They sell 3 versions where the numbers and shapes are randomized to keep it fresh. I like the idea of having to mentally process the drill. The original drill IIRC is 3 mags with 7 rounds. The problem with this is you know when the mag reloads are coming so it allows you to "game" it a bit.

I change up the number of rounds in each magazine. I load a total of 21 rounds into 3 mags so I have 2 random reloads. Some people will do 6,7, 8 but really any numbers totaling 21 will work. Load the mags scramble them up, DON'T CHEAT, and randomly load the first mag. Another great option is if you are shooting with someone else is have them load you mags for you.

The goal is to shoot the 21 shots with 2 reloads at 7 yards in 21 seconds. Anyone else shoot this drill?

That’s a pretty fun looking drill, I may have to try that next time. Do you have a link of where you can get targets like these?

Something my buddy and I do when we shoot, is we will load each others mags so we have no idea how many rounds each one has

They sell 3 different version randomizing the numbers location. I made templates for the different shapes and make my own.

I like this. Thanks for sharing. I can definitely be guilty of going and just throwing lead down range.

And you think our numbskulls {me} can follow those instructions? Remember the old...you can't shoot the same target twice???
Seriously,, this is very well thought out. We will have to convert it to steel.

Thats a great idea. It would be interesting to do it on steel. These days I am constantly looking for drills that have a decision making process involved. The other thing I like about this drill you can do it almost anywhere. If your range won't let you draw from the holster then you can start at the low ready and still get a lot out of the drill. You can also change up the distance to meet the shooters ability.

Once they master the casino drill try this one. Rob Pincus' "Figure 8" #halfof8

Forced variation. Actual math included... the timer. o_O

HA HA HA! Rob showed us that drill when I took one of his classes a few years ago. When he starts throwing the math in there, after everyone has been shooting all day and is good and tired and running on adrenaline it will SCREW YOU UP!!! I still practice that one, too.
