I have taken many of Apex Defense group's firearms classes in the past and always have gotten some great instruction and learned a lot.
However, I had never taken a medical class. (they offer many medical classes, also).
I broke down and took the Tacmed 1 class and I cant say enough how much I enjoyed it. It was quite the brain dump with lots of information and hands on training. We learned how to use tourniquets, pack wounds, use chest seals, decompression needles and much more. The end of the class was scenario driven and broken up into teams. It was quite the eye opener for me trying to triage and treat other teams that were "wounded".
I have a whole new outlook on the importance of medical training. The class is being offered again in October and I think I will take it again just to learn more and get more hands on training. They also have medical gear for sale. Now I have a great IFAK and know how to use whats in it.
Do yourself a favor and get med training from this group!
