Built the wife a nice sized walk-in pantry off the kitchen. Knocked this shelf together over the weekend and its almost ready for paint. Its 27.5" wide, 16" deep, and 96" tall. Each shelf is double layered for strength with hidden cleats. Will mostly hold things like crock pots, air fryer, rice cooker, blender, etc, so its mostly tall shelves.20220503_220257.jpg

That's a heck of a pantry! I don't think I've ever seen one with such a big door...

😉

Nice job!

I did similar a couple years back but built it as a built in, not free standing. She loves it and I'm sure yours will as well.

Growing up, we didn't have a "pantry". We had a "canning room".

Apparently, that part of the basement used to be a coal bin. By the time I came along, it has a full sized freezer in it and shelving all the way around the remaining walls for all the stuff Mom canned every year. It was a dream for us kids! Want dill pickles? Go pull a quart jar out of the canning room. Tomatoes, tomato juice? Grape drink? Dilled celery? Jelly? Just go get it!

And that didn't count what was in the freezer!
