Location: The Range, 5027 Hancock Road, Oxford, NC, 27565

This is our monthly The Range at True North all steel pistol match that is a mix of USPSA and IDPA style shooting. Scoring is simple, it is time plus and targets must fall to count. All targets left standing accrue a 5 second penalty each. Each hit on a no shoot target will accrue a 5 second penalty. There is a mandatory mag change for each stage. There will be PCC and pistol will have open, optics, single stack and double stack divisions. There will be bonus targets that when hit give you a 10 second reduction in time for the stage. The round count will be approx. 100 rounds, I would bring more. Check in is between 11am and 11:45 with the match starting approximately 12pm. Come out and join us in trying out a new style match. Also to let everyone know we will have a pistol caliber carbine division.

open, single stack, double stack, optics, pcc

This is one of the best matches you can go to. I had a blast shooting this one. I wish i could make this one.

I'm planning on attending and hope to be bringing a buddy and his 15yr old Son to his first run-n-gun match. His Son has only shot steel challenge matches up to this point. I think this match would be the perfect introduction to anybody looking to make that transition.

That would be cool, it's been awhile. Fair warning, I'll be shooting PCC. All three of us will be actually. No worries if you don't want to be seen/squadded with lowly PCC shooters.

I must say this was a very FUN match and extremely well run! If you have not shot it yet I would highly recommend as it is the fun of USPSA and steel challenge without having to paste or worry about scoring zones!

@NKD way to burn it down for the double stack win!!

I forgot to perform the mandatory reload and engage that last popper squirreled away on the far right corner of the shoot house (stage 5). Otherwise I had a mental error free match. Unfortunately that little mental slip cost me 18sec.

Apparently I shot a little better than I originally thought I did. It looks like they had a scoring error somewhere and I jumped from 5th to 2nd.

It looks like they are not holding this match in May (Memorial day weekend?) and possibly not in June due to Carolina Cup. Too bad I really like this match format.

I'm waiting until Wed of next week to see what the weather is looking like and also waiting on friends to finalize plans. It is a REALLY fun match!

How long does this match usually run? I have to be somewhere at 5, so trying to see if i can slam it in.

We were done by like 2:30-3:00 I think last time. It runs pretty fast.

Also, there was some drizzle/rain but with it being all steel it wasn't a problem at all. So something to consider.

Unfortunately not as I have USPSA on Sunday.
And I’m not young and fit like you haha.
But was surprised that I did as well as I did on my first one and look forward to doing it again.

Uspsa has been so humbling I take any good finish I can anywhere I can!!
