Okay here's the objective.
Taking out the stock trigger parts and replacing it with a CMC modular unit.

Here's the progress.
Got the upper and lower separated and drifted the trigger pins out.

Here's the problem.
Can't get the trigger portion of the assembly out of the receiver. It's too long to lift the rear and it won't come out by lifting just the front part. I've tried holding my mouth in 3 different positions, no go. I've used a few of my "choice words of encouragement", no go. I took a break and walked away thinking it may somehow just "fall out", no go.

Unless someone can get me straight my next move is the 3# shop hammer, I really don't want to go there but if left with no other choice, will go. BTW, this is/was a stock Bushmaster that I have renamed Bastard Master...

You may have to remove your safety for the rear of trigger to clear.

To do this, the grip will have to come off, as it captures the safety detent and spring. Careful when doing this, or you might lose a spring or detent.
Under grip, just untighten grip screw and carefully work grip off. The detent and spring is in vertical hole right over right side of grip.

Well, that was too damned simple. Got the grip off (without losing the spring or detent) and the CMC trigger installed. There were new pins with the CMC unit that are like Chicago screws, why can't I use the original pins??

HOLY CARP!!! What a difference!! Maybe now I can actually hit something more than 15 feet away...
Thanks guys, I owe you one.....

That was my report!! (I tend to be short and to the point)

The CMC modular trigger (on sale at PSA, or it was) is sooooo much better. Got rid of that 2 stage crap and I just measured it and it releases at 3# exactly, time after time. I can't feel any creep, and it breaks very cleanly. This is my first time doing anything to the gun without assistance (@Wahoo95 helped me change the forearm) and that 's all I've ever done to it. So not a lot of experience with this platform. Thanks to @NKD and @Concept for the quick help......

I see ya already figured it out, but the safety has to come out to put in a CMC trigger.

And those CMC triggers are great. I'm planning on buying another in a few weeks.

Best thing I’ve ever done to a couple of mine were first, CMC triggers, then nickel boron BCG. Makes a huge difference in the smoothness of the bolt inside the upper

I may not be up to date, or right, but you need to use the supplied pins because the CMC doesn't provide spring pressure on the pins to retain them like a stock trigger does. In other words, if you use stock pins with a CMC they will eventually walk out.

Shooting the snot out of it helps with that too :)

I got the bolts for Christmas. I’m not complaining

I did go ahead and use the pins that came with the CMC. I figured they must be there for a reason so I decided not to re-engineer anything, but I plan on working on that better wheel thing later this afternoon....Stay tuned....

I wasn't much of a fan of ARs until I built one from parts, but that sold me! It's like switching to the big kids legos... Somehow assembling a gun piece by piece makes shooting it more enjoyable. And a CMC trigger makes it even funner.

Glad you got it sorted. Yeah, with a milspec style, one of the spring legs of the trigger spring is captured by the groove in the milspec pins, keeping them from walking out.
CMC is really hard to beat at any price!

Remind me next time we have lunch I will bring out one of mine with a CMC, great trigger, I'm working them in to most of my builds now.

Last thing I need is you showing me things...I have to recover from the last time I asked you for advice...

Are you going to add it to the list?

Fail! The $129 CMC deal from PSA two weeks ago was what's up.
