was looking into this as an alternative to a pistol caliber carbine and read that your not supposed to "intend" to shoot it from the shoulder?
not sure why I would want one anymore.

you would understand if you owned a perfectly legal item that an unelected 4th branch of govt decreed illegal post facto via 'opinion letters' aka backdoor regulations.don't quite understand the t-shirt
on the other hand, didn't realize cz scorpions in the handguns for sale section are ar pistols. got a few drool worthy ones down there.
stripped lowers that have never had a rifle stock attached can be either, according to Batfeces. You cannot go from a rifle to a pistol without paying and filing the SBR tax.So I bought a lower. Didnt plan on building another pistol. Was transferred through an FFL. Does it have to be specifically transferred as a pistol? Is this a rifle only lower since I didnt specify it was to be built into a pistol? Or does it not matter since it was just a lower that was transferred?
Ok that's what I've herd but wanted to make sure. Thanksstripped lowers that have never had a rifle stock attached can be either, according to Batfeces. You cannot go from a rifle to a pistol without paying and filing the SBR tax.
But...you can go from a pistol to a rifle.
Makes about as much sense as a soup sandwich, and about as clear as mud
every stripped lower is an 'other' when it arrives at the FFL. Also, pretty sure the 4473 doesn't allow the buyer to specify whether it's a pistol, long gun or 'other'. That's up to the transferor (FFL) so there's no 'registration' of anything on the buyer's end.Register as “other” on the form.
Even if it specifies.......if it was a stripped lower, marked 'pistol' it can be either one.As long as the lower doesn't specify, you are good.
was wondering how someone would get 'caught' if a lower were originally a rifle or not marked correctly. Do I need to keep some sort of documentation? Would I need to ask for some sort of documentation if it wasn't purchased from a dealer?
