Scratch that.....SW 22sare all plastic and I believe that rail may integral with the receiver. Better check that first.

I wasn't 100% sure of what the question was.

You're wanting to know if the handguard off an M&P 15-22 fits and M&P Sport 2? If so, that's a "no" unless there's a newer version of the 15-22.
It has a plastic rail that's held on by a nut that takes a special wrench. If you want to put a standard handguard on a 15-22 you have to buy an aftermarket adapter to make it work.
