Pffft... I've got my SBR Scorpion, SBR AR9, and about to SBR my Zenith MP5 RS clone... AKV is next addition, then Stribog when they release the RDB model.

Finally got this thing to the outdoor range this afternoon. Spot on at 50 with the cheapo red dot and irons. Not much good after that. Which I kind of expected. Still not disappointed. One more failure to something. I guess I'll call it failure to feed, but there was so much going on in the chamber, I'm not really sure. Could have been eject that caused the whole shenanigans, but there was no empty case in there when I cleared it. Either way, two failures in 500. I'm not complaining even though it's two more than both the multical gun and the x39 rife.

You guys got me.... I broke down and bought a Angstadt Arms upper. I have always pushed 300blk over 9mm in these short barrels, so I am interested to try it out.

So the mag block doesn't seem to matter from each of your experiences.
Is there a preferred buffer weight on different barrel lengths?

Sorry to high jack but this seemed a better place than starting a new thread.

I'm new at this 9mm carbine thing too, but from what I understand you want a slightly longer buffer but less than 3.8 inches. You're going to want weight too, I'm starting at 6oz, but hear others are using 8 plus successfully. The standard AR 15 carbine spring should be fine.

There's a dude on Arfcom who's running a hydraulic buffer, rifle length tube, and a Tubb flat wire spring with good results, but that's a lot of money when you can probably just get a new heavy buffer and call it good if it runs.

You can either run a longer/heavier buffer, or a heavier buffer with a stack of quarters in the buffer tube.

I believe the two I’m running are 7oz and 8oz.
