The lawsuit alleges Polymer80 Inc. negligently and unlawfully sold an "untraceable home-assembled gun kit” that resulted in the September attack.
It is perfectly legal for an individual to build their own firearm, unless they are a prohibited person, like the felon who ambushed the two deputies in their SUV patrol vehicle.

Polymer80 sold a few pieces of injection molded plastic. The felon illegally made that into a gun and then illegally decided to try to kill police.

This is a stupid lawsuit but out there in the whacky land of Kali, it’ll get some airtime.

They just keep filing lawsuits because they have unlimited finances from you know who.

Why do gun owners think the police are on our side?
Because cops are individuals that don’t vote or act in a bloc? It’s a job, not an identity.

For every statist authoritarian dingbat that learned to despise the public exercising its rights in CA, NY, or NJ, there are cops that see civilian gun ownership and carrying as common sense tools to prevent crime. Some police genuinely are on our side. You can probably assume the ones from notorious corruption-ridden departments in crime-ridden urban areas festering with progressive politicians are anti-freedom.

That's so wrong.

Most Chicago cops are good people. I've known many and trained with hundreds of them. The old now defunct blog Second City Cop was a good barometer to show who was on whose side in the culture war. The upper echelons of brass were mostly enemies, but most everyone else were good people.

What does "untraceable home-assembled gun kit" have to do with this September attack?

Would the gun having been "traceable" prevented the attack?

The answer to that is, of course, "no". Because authorities typically only "trace" a firearm AFTER one has been recovered at the scene of a crime.

The ONLY time "traceability" comes into play before the commission of a crime is when a government has finally decided to make good on gun confiscation. And that is usually preceded by massive, mandatory registration of firearms.

So "untraceable home-assembled gun kit" is, of course, BS.

So it sounds like some of them are decent folks, and the folks that want to turn the job into a political career are not decent.

I have no experience with Chicago, but I’ve been repeatedly harassed in NYC for pocket knives, watched a Boston cop harass and call the cops on a lady at a flea market on the Cape for selling jewelry made from .38 brass, and dealt with multiple DC cops telling me that I cannot apply for a CWP in the District despite the District being shall-issue to non-residents.

I also used to sell cans and other NFA items to LE personnel, and based on that experience, the larger the agency, the more likely the officers were to express disdain over “civilians” having access to “tactical” firearms. Not all—some dudes will surprise you with how progun/libertarian they are—but enough that it was consistent.

Reading between the lines, it clearly says "go buy Polymer80 stuff now".

At least that's what I read.

Eventually, every facet of the gun industry, and every business is going to get sued.

Remington giving in and settling emboldened them to do this more and more.

Any LEO that is still working for a major Dem city, is crazy, and I have no sympathy for anything that happens to them.

Have you ever heard the saying "fighting the good fight"? These guys are trying to keep their neighbors safe in spite of their bosses.

yeah the cops that turned their backs on lightfoot? they were at the hospital - the hospital where the shot cops went to - the hospital where the shooting victims families said they didn't want her coming. but apparently she knows better and crashed the party anyway. one of the victims dad is a retired cop and apparently had some words for her when she showed up against their request.
and i guess after all this she put out some statement about how everybody's emotions are a little raw at a tragic times...
how fricking tone deaf can she be?

They need to put Light in Her Head in a patrol car so she can experience the reality of the situation going on in the city.
Stupid DA's all over stating they will not prosecute criminals, gives them the green light to continue their life of crime.
She blames guns when the courts and DA's let the criminals out on bail or no bail.
If those two brothers were in jail Officer French would be home tonight.

I do not think she is tone deaf. That is assuming rational thought. With a quick look into her life it is obvious she has serious mental issues. Kinda like a a functional alcoholic or drug user. She can appear coherent enough to most people, but she is truly whacked.

Another combination of people who feel victimized, people who see an opportunity to enrich themselves, a third group who hate the thought of personal freedom, funded by organizations wishing to turn this country into a socialist utopia.

I look into the future with dread.
