My shooting group just ran the NJ LEO qualification course. It was so damned easy... It's a very reasonable baseline for defining 'competence'. The John wick headline is complete BS.

Even though the requirements may not be difficult for many people, this points out the main problem with having mandated training to buy or carry a firearm. The requirements can be made so difficult at the whim of the government that most people cannot buy or carry guns.

When I was testing for Illinois I was told to spread my shots out on the target. The instructor wanted to be able to show all 30 shots hit the target.
