The appeals will outlast the current POTUS, or at least his current term. If this is his last term then the rule probably goes away, unless Trump wins since he’s the one that wanted it. Maybe that was some 4d chess, I can’t recall.

Please let this be his and heels up's last term. I can't afford another term of tax people with jobs and give the money to people who won't work.

If Trump did not have AG Barr do it, then Congress could have passed a law for him to sign. Easier to challenge a rule in court vs a law.
 
Thankfully the points made in this ruling all parallel the brace rule perrrrfectly. Now, hopefully the brace rule will be heard soon and these arguments/this ruling admitted.
