Ashville gun & knife show January 8th and 9th

It was decent about 6 years ago, most everything is overpriced or cheaper online. Haven't found anything on the want list or deals for a couple of years, about the only thing we do now is pick up ammo from GA Arms and say hey to everyone we know trying to blow money while the wives are still shopping at the outlets.

It’s hit or miss. I’ve found some great deals, sold stuff I was carrying around, and gone home empty handed.

I’ll very likely walk through at some point.

I’ll probably wander through and see what is there. I’ve not seen any great deals in a few years but you just never know what you might find.

I'll probably put $75 more than the forum price on this damn Winchester 12ga hanging around and see if I can find a taker.

Much collectible stuff there? Coming through Sunday morning and never been to a gun show in western part of state. Worth stopping for couple of hours?

There’s usually a couple tables of militaria, it’s pretty standard as far as shows nowadays go. 50% gun tables, 20% mall ninja stuff, 20% beef jerky and scented candles, and 10% seamless gutter salesmen.

I really like gun shows. Used to drive to the 1500 and 2000 table shows in PA a few times a year. The Asheville show is good, not great. It was very similar to the Hickory show a few weeks ago, with the same vendors and same guns on the tables. Lots of brand new handguns, which I'm not in the market for (except maybe the new 3" Python). I was hoping to see more MilSurp, but these shows were pretty light on those. I think I saw 2 or 3 Garands (overpriced, of course) in the whole building and a few M-1 carbines starting at ~$1500. I was interested in a few old lever guns and an overpriced Hakim, but I have too much stuff to buy for the new house and I didn't feel like haggling. Picked up a couple of extra vz 58 mags, an AK cleaning rod, back-up iron sights, dental picks/mirrors, etc.

Bigger than I anticipated, lots of variety. Saw some really nice old Smith engraved revolvers. Unfortunately like most shows and auctions there are few deals to be had. We were on the way further west so my time was limited, wish I could’ve looked closer. Might have found something.
