Asking a How To

There should be a little drop down box at the top of your thread directly above and towards the right side your original post that says something like "thread tools". There should be an option of "edit title" and then "mark as sold" or something similar.

My apologies if I am incorrect. Been a while.

And congrats on the G17 sale.

Select Thread Tools > Edit Thread
Where you see your thread title, click on the “state”, NC in this case
Select SOLD from the state pull down.

Can't find this anywhere just yet, but how do we chose prefix...im looking fir what all the abbrev mean aside from NC SC...TIA!
ie- accessories like gun part in spf or nc/sc?

NC & SC should be self-explanatory
SPF = Sold Pending Funds…you choose that once a deal has been made
Sold…change it from SPF to Sold once the item/$$ has changed hands
Withdrawn is if you no longer have it for sale, which could also include you selling it anywhere other than CFF

If you do sell it here, you’re not supposed to delete any info from the ad. If you withdraw it instead, for any reason other than selling it here, you can edit the thread to remove info if you want.

The Wanted section also has Found…which is a better fit than Sold for those particular ads.

If that wasn’t the answer you were looking for, let me know.

And just as info, there’s no reason to post “sold pending meetup” or “sold” or anything that’s in the dropdown. Just change the dropdown and move on. Posting Sold in the thread does nothing other than bump a thread to the top, for an item that’s no longer available.

Also, choosing Withdrawn or Sold will also lock the thread. There’s no reason for discussion to continue at that point. Saying “thanks” needs to be done using the Feedback tool. If you mistakenly mark one Sold, and need it unlocked, click Report and ask for it to be unlocked…as even if you change the dropdown back to NC it doesn’t unlock the thread.

Thank you so much!! Mainly spf threw me, I appreciate the additional detail as it will soon come in handy! I am curious when just one state over the other/both is necessary or chosen, like a specific circumstance?

If its an accessory, optic, or what have you and youre willing to ship, use the NC/SC.
There are ways to do firearms across state lines, but they are still generally traded amongst residents of the same state around here.

See Draco’s reply…

Additionally, you’d have to use an FFL in either state for a long gun. If it’s a handgun, it has to be an FFL in the buyer’s state.

That’s generally why you see NC or SC instead of NC/SC.
