ATF looking for you.

The reasonable man in me says that the article is mostly hyperbole. If an airsoft user bought the thing and installed it in his or her airsoft, ATF may have grounds to seize it, but they have no evidence of intent to create a machine gun and no actual creation of a machine gun.

My guess is that they’ll send out scary letters requiring that the items be turned in and maybe paying some nominal amount. Criminals will ignore it.

Oh. I thought ATF was having a recruitment drive. :rolleyes:

Lots of grandstanding with some of that verbage...

Leak also possessed 21 rounds of ammunition and three magazines, with capacities of 15, 20 and 30 rounds of ammunition, according to court documents.

Through some keen observations and excellent police work, Officer Stanton developed a routine traffic stop into an arrest of a dangerous individual. Because of the Officer’s relentless determination, the individual’s true identity was learned, a weapon and ammunition along with narcotics were all confiscated. The weapon was modified to fire fully automatic, and was found under the driver’s seat, fully loaded with high-capacity magazines. This incident just goes to show the dangers our officers face, even on something that appears to start out as a minor traffic violation.”

Umm... fully loaded with high capacity magazines when he only had 21 rounds??

I agree with SPM on the validity of some of the statements. If it was advertised and sold as a specific product, that was legal, they are going to have to prove constructive intent while misusing or altering the use of said product. You can misuse a flashlight to make a suppressor too. At least that's my take on it.

Public warning to member @J R Green!

It is against the rules, not to mention very poor form, to post links to crazy sale prices, free shipping, free hazmat, etc. after the sale has ended. All such posts should be timely.

Had this been a timely post, it should have been posted in the correct forum;
https://www.carolinafirearmsforum.c...-deals-links-to-what-we-cant-live-without.65/

Continued flouting of this rule may result in your account being banned or suspended. At minimum it will result in a very stern warning. You have been a member here since - well, you're a founding member - ignorance of the rules is no excuse.

Dollars to donuts, they've recovered exactly 1 of these, and the keen observations and excellent police work were nothing more than pressuring the driver to consent to a warrantless search.

The guy could be a scumbag, he could just be a victim of retarded ass laws that themselves violate the Second Amendment.

This reminds me of the case where the ATF seized a bunch of Airsoft rifles and insisted they're a couple screws and some duct tape away from being real machine guns.

The ATF is the catch all agency for folks too stupid to make it into any other federal agency, which they continually prove every time they issue a statement.
